RHP Jack Gianikos (Maine South, 2026) was no doubt one of the best arms in attendance, and he’s an uncommitted junior on top of that. There’s a lot to like about the slender right-hander, starting with his highly projectable and high-waisted 6-foot-4, 174-pound frame. He’s a loose, flexible mover on the mound, working with a high leg-lift into a drop/drive lower-half, creating extension down the mound with some pace. His arm action is loose throughout a medium circle, and he creates quality layback in his shoulder into footplant before moving into a ¾ release. His fastball played with life out of the hand and through the zone, sitting 86-87 mph with some carry traits. He showed some feel to spin both his breaking balls, with the curveball showing big over the top depth at 64-66 mph, and the slider playing a bit more lateral at 67-70 mph. To fill out his arsenal he went to a changeup at 70-72 mph, occasionally getting under it but effectively killing spin. High-ceiling arm with more velocity to come.

RHP Jack Gianikos (Maine South, 2026) stands out immediately thanks to his long-levered, highly-projectable, 6-foot-3, 180-pound, loose-bodied frame. The arm plays loose and quick from a ¾ slot and the fastball seemed to play harder than the velo indicated (83-84.2 mph). He currently throws a curveball and a slider with the slider showing better feel and action on this day at 68-70.8 mph; plays with sweeping 10/4 shape and peaked at 2,394 rpm. His changeup was also a quality offering playing at the bottom of the zone with sink and run. Could easily see the velocity jump at any time for the upside 2026 arm.

At 6-foot-3, 180-pounds RHP Jack Gianikos (Maine South, 2026) is another arm to know from this event. Gianikos’ fastball had some life out of the hand (T18.3” VB) sitting at 82-84 mph and he threw it for strikes (80%), too. (84.3 mph max), finding the strike zone 80% of the time. Gianikos showed two different breaking balls; a curveball at 65-69 mph that spun off an 11/5 plane, and a 69-70 mph slider with heavy horizontal action (19.8” HM). To round out his four-pitch mix, Gianikos threw a 74-78 mph changeup that flashed fade from a slightly lower arm window than his fastball.

He showed control of all three of his offerings, led by his low-80s fastball that plays clean and lively out of the hand with much more to come down the road. The curveball and slider have similar traits with above-average feel for both; his curveball showed late sweeping action, averaging 2140 rpm, 15.7 average inches of horizontal movement and has a chance to be an out-pitch moving forward.
