Uncommitted. Strong, well-proportioned 5-foot-10, 200-pound frame. Batted leadoff and played left field for the Eagles. Highly-athletic left-handed hitter who also stars on the gridiron in the fall as a running back. Showed easy foot speed on the basepaths, posting a 4.20 down the line in his first at-bat, and posting a 4.22 down the line in his next at-bat. The athleticism translates on defense as well, as he showed the ability to cover ground and move well laterally in the outfield.
Uncommitted, Durkin was clutch all week with three multiple hit games including two three hit games to help Sandburg go 3-2 on the week, beating Lockport, TF South and Joliet West. Durkin went 12-for-18 with three triples, seven RBIs, seven runs, and two stolen bases.
