Each week, IHSA coaches around the state submit to us their nominations for the Prep Baseball Illinois Player of the Week and Prep Baseball Illinois Pitcher of the Week honors. Yesterday, we awarded the Week 9 Player of the Week honor to OF Patrick Connors (Hinsdale Central, 2026) and the Pitcher of the Week honor to RHP Shea Glotzbach (Lemont, 2025; Missouri-St. Louis). Connors helped his team to a perfect 6-0 week while going an eye-opening 14-for-18 at the plate with one triple, five doubles, eight RBIs, 11 runs scored, 10 stolen bases and four walks - all while setting his school’s single-season stolen base record when he surpassed the 35 mark.
