INF Casey Mikrut (Lincoln-Way East, 2027) has started to become a familiar name amongst our staff, after showing well earlier this winter in Lockport. He has an athletic build with some present strength and round shoulders, standing in at 5-foot-8, 174-pounds. Defensively, he continued to show to be a reliable defender up the middle; displaying a two-hand funnel into his body, range, and a clean double play turn. At the plate, the right-handed hitter has a strong swing that works uphill at times through the zone, showing intent to match plane while peaking at 93 mph for his max EV (T351’).

One of the better all-around looks on the day came from INF/RHP Casey Mikrut (Lincoln-Way East, 2027). He has an athletic build with some present strength and round shoulders, standing in at 5-foot-8, 173-pounds. He got his day started with a 6.99 in the 60, and his athleticism easily transferred to the infield where he showed sure-handed actions and fluid footwork. At the plate, the right-handed hitter showed quick/strong hands with a flat path, working to stay on top of the baseball and to his pull-side, reaching up to 93 mph for his EV. On the mound, the right-hander has a compact and athletic delivery, working in-line with a square and balanced finish. His arm is also plenty clean and plays from a high ¾ window. His fastball sat around 85-86 mph, flashing hard life to his arm-side at times and setting up his curveball with similar arm-speed, 71-72 mph with 11/5 shape. He showed some feel for his changeup, sitting right at 75-76 mph with slight fading action.

INF/RHP Casey Mikrut (Lincoln-Way East, 2027) stood out in his showcase debut, and he’ll certainly be a name to follow as he progresses throughout his prep career. The right-handed hitter has intent to lift with an uphill path, looking to elevate the ball to his pull-side, loose/athletic swing with some upside. He showed above-average actions on the infield, moving well side to side while also displaying some rhythm in his feet, his hands are soft and confident, pairing with a quick release. On the mound, the right-hander has a staggered start with his feet, moving into a high leg-lift with a coiled balance point, working with uphill shoulders down the mound with a closed finish. His arm works with a short draw in the back before transitioning into a high ¾ release. His fastball worked in the 80-81 mph range with heavy arm-side run. He showed some feel for his curveball, missing up at times but should continue to get better with confidence, 68-69 mph. His final offering was a running changeup at 69-71 mph, locating around the zone with arm-speed.
