Louisville commit, slotted at No. 9 in the state. 5-foot-8, 151-pound build, wiry with room to continue to add strength. Advanced defender on the dirt that was starting at shortstop for the Crusaders throughout our looks. Natural defender with the ability to stick on the left side of the infield as he continues to mature, reads the ball well off the bat and uses proper angles with range to either direction, confident hands and feet that work in-sync with timing and fluidity, crisp hands and transfer from the glove. The arm is plenty strong with easy life across and accuracy, short and quick to release. Intriguing left-handed bat that uses more of a bat-to-ball approach, works to stay short to the ball but gets extension through the zone with a whippy barrel and athletic hands. FINAL LINE: 4-for-8, RBI, 4 R.
4/22/25
Louisville commit. Currently ranked No. 9 in the state and No. 133 nationally. Trim and athletic 5-foot-8, 151-pound frame with room to add strength in the future. Batted ninth and started at shortstop for the Crusaders. He stands out athletically on defense both pre-game and in-game. He has natural actions for the position with soft hands and an accurate arm to pair, that should allow him to remain up the middle for the foreseeable future.
3/28/25
Colin Campbell, SS, Brother Rice, 2027 Louisville commit, Ranked No. 6 in the state, No. 133 in the country. Lean, wiry 5-foot-8, 151-pound frame, still holds plenty of room to add strength in the coming years. Started at shortstop and hit out of the nine-hole, showing advanced defensive actions/instincts to pair with a fluid and upside left-handed stroke. The shortstop has ultra-soft hands that flow into a quick transfer, hands work out front, keeps the feet moving through the ball, proper timing and angles to the ball, vocal leader on the infield. The left-handed hitter showed the ability to control the zone with limited chase, walking twice and taking a pitch right back up the middle for a single, staying short to the baseball with extension and looseness through impact. High-level defender that routinely impresses in front of our staff.
