1B Dylan McCabe (St. Charles East, 2027) is a name that has consistently stood out to our staff thanks to advanced athleticism and instincts at the cold corner that consistently play up in gameplay, with this event being no exception. Showed well in workout with deliberate movements around the bag and an arm that was up 81 mph from across the diamond with some accuracy. At the plate showed an easy and fluid left-handed swing with line-drive intent, a patient approach, and a developing feel for the barrel. Produced a max exit velocity of 95.8 mph an average of 86.7 mph during batting practice. Wiry 6-foot, 157-pound frame with room for added strength.
One of the best defensive first basemen in the Midwest, McCabe would show a quality all-around profile throughout the weekend. At the plate, the left-handed bat would show a line-drive approach, a general feel to hit, and twitchy, loose hands. Defensively, showed active actions at the cold corner with evident instincts and athleticism that consistently played up for his AHQ squad. Wiry 5-foot-11, 154-pound frame with developing strength.

1B/LHP Dylan McCabe (St. Charles East, 2027) continues to look the part as a high-ceiling bat to follow in the state. Standing in at 5-foot-11, 154-pounds, the left-handed hitter still has much more strength to come in his frame. At the plate, he is a fluid/loose mover with a longer swing that stays through the zone, showing some whip in the barrel with an athletic finish, reaching up to 94 mph for his peak EV. McCabe was also a standout defensively, showing natural and athletic actions and feel for the position - reaching up to 81 mph from the first base position. He then provided an upside look on the mound, with his fastball playing clean out of the hand with some late life through the zone for strikes at 79-80 mph. His changeup was his best off-speed pitch on the day, sitting 70-72 mph with heavy fade (avg. -18.1” HM).

McCabe continued to show athletic actions at the plate Friday, producing QABs for Athletes HQ. McCabe's biggest hit on the day was an RBI triple, with the first baseman running well out of the box and continuing to show athleticism that plays up. McCabe's loose, quick hands and athletic frame offer plenty of projectability.
