Showed well in workout with deliberate movements around the bag and an arm that was up 81 mph from across the diamond with some accuracy. At the plate showed an easy and fluid left-handed swing with line-drive intent, a patient approach, and a developing feel for the barrel. Produced a max exit velocity of 95.8 mph an average of 86.7 mph during batting practice. Wiry 6-foot, 157-pound frame with room for added strength.

One of the best defensive first basemen in the Midwest, McCabe would show a quality all-around profile throughout the weekend. At the plate, the left-handed bat would show a line-drive approach, a general feel to hit, and twitchy, loose hands.
