He stands in an intriguing 6-foot-1, 177-pound frame, and showed a quality ‘pen on Tuesday morning. He’s a loose and easy mover on the mound, displaying a fastball up to 85.3 mph (event best), but sitting mostly 80-84 mph. His fastball averaged 2345 rpm, which led the event, also recording an average induced vertical break of 15 inches. Morse also tossed an upper-60s slider, and a change-up at 70-72 mph. Heading into August 1st, Morse is an uncommitted name to know.

Uncommitted. Stands in at a wiry 6-foot-2, 180-pound frame with room for added strength. One of the more intriguing arms from the state finals. Pitched an inning of work for Newman Central with two walks and a strikeout. May not have gotten the results he wanted, but there is a lot to be interested in with Morse. It’s a simple delivery, working out of the stretch with a low leg kick and working straight down the mound, throws out of a ¾ slot with a loose arm action. Fastball worked in the low-80s at times. Morse emerged as a must-follow 2027 moving forward.
