Kolin Adams, OF, Mount Carmel, 2025 Wharton County JC commit. Currently ranked No. 121 in the state. Lean 5-foot-10, 175-pound frame. Batted leadoff and played centerfield for the Caravan. Left-handed hitter, he continues to stand out with his advanced approach to hitting; rarely chases, seems to have an understanding of the strike zone, and always makes for a competitive at-bat. Has a rhythmic load, toe-tap stride, loose hands, athletic path. Defensively, he can cover a ton of ground from gap to gap in center, take proper routes to the ball, and has the foot speed to get to nearly every ball hit his way. He nearly came up with an impressive diving catch in the game, where he had to range far back to his left on a long fly ball. Adams has a knack for getting on-base and plays high-quality defense in center, and is a name to continue to follow this spring.
Verbally committed to Wharton County JC.
Uncommitted. Currently ranked No. 74 in the state, Adams batted leadoff for the Caravan and continued to show a knack for getting on base. The athletic 5-foot-10, 175-pound left-handed hitter has a disciplined approach at the plate, and also makes consistent contact at the dish. Adams is a fluid mover in centerfield as well with natural and comfortable actions. He came in to get two outs on the mound for the Caravan and pounded the zone with a fastball/curveball pitch-mix. Adams has consistently shown to be a scrappy top-of-the-order bat and the tablesetter for the Caravan offense in 2024.
Uncommitted. Currently ranked No. 74 in the state, Adams got on base four times out of the leadoff spot for the Caravan. Adams consistently worked deep counts against the De La Salle pitching staff, drawing two walks in the game to go with his two singles. From the left side, the athletic 5-foot-10, 175-pound outfielder has a simple setup in the box, using a toe tap trigger, swinging with an athletic and level path. Adams also showed natural actions in centerfield; taking efficient routes to the ball, and proving to have a strong arm in-game that has played up to 89 mph for our staff in showcase settings.
OF Kolin Adams (Mount Carmel) showed well in a number of different categories over the weekend. He started his day by cruising to a 6.84 in the 60 with a peak run-speed of 20.5 mph, also recording a 32” vertical. He gave a polished look throughout his round of BP, looking to use the whole field and take the ball where it is pitched, staying through the zone with a flat path and balanced finish. He has a patient glove in the outfield with clean hands and footwork, reaching up to 89 mph from a crow hop.
A speedy left-handed hitting centerfielder - Adams was on the barrel often due to a quick & balanced left-handed stroke with whip in the barrel. The athletic, 5-foot-10, 175 pounder with compact strength delivered barrel after barrel in my looks, looking the part of a potential top-of-the-order bat at the next level. A 6.84 runner, Adams also offers above average arm strength from the OF (88 mph OF Velo).

Adams sprayed hard line-drive contact to all fields. Defensively, he plays with smooth, easy actions and his arm topped at 82 mph from the outfield.

Another freshman outfielder to make his presence felt at the event was left/left Kolin Adams (Mount Carmel, 2025). Adams put together one of the more polished rounds of BP on the day, made even more impressive due to his age. Adams stays balanced through a highly repeatable swing with advanced feel for the barrel and loose, athletic hands. He sprayed hard contact to all fields while staying simple and within himself. Adams’ peak exit velocity was recorded at 83.5 mph with his average at 79.6, underscoring how much he was on the barrel throughout his round, underscored by a sweep spot rate of 72 percent, the third highest of the event. Adams' hit tool should only continue to ascend as he adds strength and physicality to his young 5-foot-8, 144-pound frame. Defensively, he showed clean, efficient actions, receptive hands and a clean, accurate arm that topped at 79 mph, and he began the day with a 7.51 time in the laser-timed 60-yard dash.
