3B Ethan Rudolph (St. Thomas More, 2027) gave our staff an intriguing look over the weekend. 6-foot, 172-pound frame that projects to add on strength. The right-handed hitter has an athletic stroke with loose arms and a whippy barrel, looks to project into some power as he continues to fill out. Above-average defender at third base with soft hands and fluid actions, makes plays look easy. Strong arm across the diamond that plays with accuracy and carry.
Rudolph is a projectable athlete who stands 6-foot, 158-pounds. He not only showcased what he could do at the plate, in the infield, and on the mound, but he ran the best 60-yard dash of the day at 7.32 seconds, with quick burst and fast turnover once underway. At the plate, Rudolph drove balls to both gaps with a flat and efficient swing path maxing out his exit velocity in the mid-to-upper 80s. In the infield, he displayed a quick first step, showed soft hands and repeated a short arc arm slot and made accurate throws on target. On the mound, he flashed three quality offerings with a fastball into the mid-to-upper 70 mph range with feel for the zone.
