Each time I see Arth I grow more and more convinced of his future as a college level player and getting to see him against quality velocity over three at bats (84-90 MPH) ticked that belief up even further. The hands in Arth’s swing have long worked well with loose quickness and that quickness played against stronger velocity then I had seen him consistently against previously turning on a 84 MPH FB in his first at bat for a double down the LF line (LD over 3B’s head) and then barreled 86 MPH for a hard grounder to the 5-6 hole which the Castaic SS made a nice play on to record the out before his final at resulting in a double off the RF wall on an 89 MPH FB from Foster on the outer half which Arth drilled. Add in an impressive day behind the plate where his athleticism showed up on a trio of impressive catcher pops that he hauled in including staying with one that got caught in the wind and he had to corral on the run just steps from the fence. Once again I left the field after seeing Arth perform (three live looks and three events) with his profile taking a tick up in my book and will be a name for college programs to keep their eyes on going forward in the 2027 class.

Another underclass talent in the Dragons starting lineup as they boast a depth of young talent Arth continues to grow on me. The RH hitting backstop has been a strong consistent performer across multiple Prep Baseball California events and this live look was no different. He is on the smaller side for a backstop, but his athleticism allows him to get low to the ground while showing a clean/quiet glove that handles pitches in all locations while tracking spin well. His arm strength is presently fringey, but accurate with his throws which is something he will need to tick up as he continues to develop. A strong runner who has burst his athleticism would easily fit in the OF should he ever move off of catcher. At the dish it’s a loose quick RH swing with increasing bat speed as he continues developing and an aggressive approach that attacks the baseball. Arth flashed some sneaky thump to the pull side with a deep foul drive and then stung a few balls in play, but without the fortune of collecting a hit on the day. Still just a Soph. also he is a profile I’m very interested to continue to track along the Central Coast as his foundation presents an intriguing upside.

Arth has consistently been a strong performer across a wide variety of different looks for our staff and just after a solid performance at the Central California Preseason All State event came out to get one last look before the start of the spring which saw him put up one of his best offensive performances including new tops in bat speed (68.3 MPH), rotational acceleration (18 Gs), max EV (93.5 MPH), avg EV (88.1), max distance (335') and hard hit rate (44%). The RH hitter is a sound athlete who has consistently run 60 times in the 7.1 range while showing 2.08-2.15 pop times which will go down even more as he adds strength to his frame.
