Dru Wilson, Notre Dame (CA), 2028
Positional Profile: OF/RHP Athletic OF with a strong arm and a whippy swing in the box.
Body: 5-10, 191-pounds. Strong, athletic frame with room to fill in.
Hit: RHH. Shoulder-width, open stance with slight knee bend. Hands sit high and initiate a forward barrel tilt in sequence with the stride. Generates a whippy barrel through the zone. Looks to get extended to maximize power. Maintains balance and posture. 74.2 mph bat speed with 19 G's of rotational acceleration.
Power: 100 max exit velocity, averaged 92.6 mph. 306' max distance.
Arm: RH. OF-95 mph. Long arm motion with whippy 3/4 release. Finishes over the top. Releases ball with considerable velo and carry.
Defense: Contolled approach to the ball and transitions into a powerful crow hop. Utilizes strong lower body to generate power.
ATH: 6.89 runner in the 60.

Wilson was only able to get his 60 yard time in during the LA Preseason All State before the rained washed out the rest of the event. He returned for the LA Preseason ID to complete the rest of the workout and it was a loud showing for the talented 2028. Wilson has the athleticism to stick in CF long term, but if he has to move out of the middle of the diamond at any point in his career his arm will comfortably stick in RF with carry on his 95 MPH throws. The bat for Wilson was uber impressive during his round of batting practice putting up consistent hard contact with 70% hard hit rate across all of his batted balls. There is power in his profile with a 100+ MPH max EV and 92.6 MPH average EV, but his batted ball angles are more of the line drive profile which combined with his foot speed makes him a double/triples threat on any ball he drives to the OF. The swing metrics for Wilson are a testament to his athleticism with quick hands over 22 MPH, impressive bat speed nearing 77 MPH and nearly 24 Gs of rotational acceleration in his swing. A full time starter on the varsity level as a FR. for Notre Dame Wilson is one of the top talents in the state and has a sky high ceiling for his future.
2/18/25

In a day of baseball loaded with talented players on each roster from both JSerra and Notre Dame the youngest player on the field may have stolen the show for me. Hitting in the leadoff spot and manning CF the advanced athletic ability with solid present wiry strength showed up in a variety of different ways. At the plate he collected a pair of singles (line drive rocket to LF / INF single in 2K count), drew a walk and then used his top end run speed (4.05 - 4.2 H-1B speed) to force an error from the Lions 3B and came around to score. The swing has intriguing present bat speed with consistent bat to ball in the profile which projects to add power as he learns to tap into the leverage in his bat path against varsity level pitching. On the defensive side it was impressive performance in CF showing range to both sides and ability to come in/go back on the ball that profiles as an impact defender and he adds a potential impact throwing arm which showed up on a pair of strong throws with accuracy in game. In the first inning he uncorked a strong online throw home which barely missed recording an out at the plate on a bang bang play and then followed it up later in the game with a similar throw to third base with another bang bang play. It’s easy to see why the talented RH hitting CF is in a prominent spot for the strong Notre Dame program and will be a must see player for college programs in the near future, plus potentially MLB scouts down the road.
