Bryce Farris, Whitney High (CA), 2027
Positional Profile: 3B/OF Athletic two-way talent with present arm strength and room for further development. Upside on both sides of the ball.
Body: 6-0, 169-pounds. Lean, athletic frame with room to add strength and size in the future.
Delivery: Begins with a higher hand set before dropping to the waist and syncing with the front leg. Drives down the mound with a long stride, sinking slightly into the back leg, while staying balanced and directional. Shows good feel for blocking with the plant leg and maintains rhythm throughout the delivery.
Arm Action: RH. Delivers from a 3/4 slot with a full, aggressive arm action. Creates depth in line with the body, while maintaining fluidity and looseness through release. Displays some recoil upon release, along with repeatable mechanics and consistent arm speed.
FB: T94, 88-93 mph. High velocity FB, with the ability to run it up as the outing progresses. Misses barrels and gets whiffs at the top of the zone. Has enough arm-side run to be effective on the edges. T1929, 1789 average rpm.
SL: 73-75 mph. Heavy sweeping SL that plays well off the FB plane. Confident filling up the zone, working off the FB up. Effective as back door option to LHH. T2385, 2281 average rpm.
CH: 78-78 mph. Tumbling CH that’s used to change the eye level. Maintains low spin and creates good separation off the FB. Can be effective when thrown down in the zone; still developing offering. 1243 average rpm.

Positional Profile: 3B/OF Athletic two-way talent with present arm strength and room for further development. Upside on both sides of the ball.
Body: 6-0, 169-pounds. Lean, athletic frame with room to add strength and size in the future.
Hit: RHH. Sets up slightly open with a wide, balanced base. Hands rest at shoulder height with the barrel vertical and back elbow raised. Initiates the load by sinking into the back knee as the hands drift rearward. Utilizes a toe-tap stride of medium length to maintain rhythm and timing. Creates solid separation and demonstrates quick bat speed through the zone. Works uphill through contact for lift and carry, producing consistent hard contact with gap-to-gap power.
Power: 98 max exit velocity, averaged 90.0 mph. 336' max distance.
Arm: RH. OF-96 mph. Short arm path works quickly out of the glove with solid depth. Shows elite arm strength that carries well from the outfield. Delivers accurate throws when kept low and can air it out when necessary. Arm fits well in CF/RF.
Defense: Shows efficient, deliberate footwork while covering ground. Takes effective routes and attacks balls in front. Demonstrates strong defensive instincts, with the ability to play all three OF spots.
The swiss army knife of the event in my opinion, Farris is another player who I’ve gotten to follow pretty closely this high school season, he led all of Whitney in hitting this year. Farris got his day going by running a 6.76 60 YD dash with a top speed of 20.4 mph. Ferris weighed in at 6’0” 174.4 lbs, 151 (right hand), & 131 (left hand) for grip strength, and a max vertical of 26.2 inches. Farris possesses a bunch of tools all over the diamond, in the outfield he had an even best 96 mph and displayed athletic actions to where he could potentially be able to play out on the grass in the future. On the infield, Farris has got a nice pair of hands, needs to work on going to get the ball and pick his hop more, but the third base spot is where I see him playing the most when he gets. Farris also got a chance to step on the mound during the game and hit an event best 90 mph, the slider was 73-74 with an average spin rate of 2205 rpm, the changeup was 76-77 mph with an average spin rate of 1529 rpm. I like the swing of Farris, he isn’t afraid to take hacks and be aggressive in the box. Farris posted his highest EV of the day at 99.9 mph with an average EV of 93.4 mph, which was one of the highest of the day. Tons of upside in all categories for Farris, going to be a fun summer to follow and see the maturity break out.
Positional Profile: 3B/SS
Body: 6-0, 174-pounds.
Hit: RHH. Slightly open stance, with wide, balanced setup. Hands rest at shoulder level, with vertical barrel tip and raised back elbow. Starts load by shifting into back knee, while hands drift back slightly. Adds toe tap for timing, along with medium stride length. Creates good separation and shows present bat speed through the zone. Keeps some weight in back side as hips fire, with barrel path that can create lift/carry. Produces consistent hard contact and presents power to the pull side and up the middle. mph bat speed with g of rotational acceleration.
Power: 100 mph max exit velocity (93.4 avg.); 364-foot max batted distance.
Arm: RH. INF - 85 mph. OF - 96 mph. INF: Quick and clean transfer, with a short arm path that creates some depth. Works from higher slot, with present arm speed, getting good carry on his throws and showing accuracy. Has arm to stick on the left side. OF: Short arm path, that works quick out of the glove and shows good depth. Displays elite arm strength in the OF, with accuracy to his throws that can play in any OF spot.
Defense: INF: Plays low to the ground with strong body control. Moves well downhill and laterally, playing angles well and showing a strong foundation. Profiles well for 3B. OF: Takes good routes and shows the ability to cover ground. Works aggressively on balls hit in front of him and playing his angles well. Looks to be strong defender in all three OF spots.
Athletic Testing: 6.76 runner in the 60-yard dash; 26.20-inch max vertical jump.
Vizual Edge: 70.49 Edge Score.
Delivery: Starts with higher hand set initially, before dropping them to belly button and syncing up with the front leg. Front leg leads down the mound as he sinks slightly into his back leg. Gets down the mound with a long stride length, showing a decent feel to block with his plant leg.
Arm Action: RH. Shows quick, but full arm path that creates depth in line with the body. Displays looseness in arm-action as he gets up to a 3/4 slot. Has minimal recoil after release.
FB: T90, 83-87 mph. FB plays with decent ride through the zone and shows some arm side run. Can run up the velocity when necessary, with enough life to miss barrels when elevated or run in on RHH. T1980, 1739 average rpm.
SL: 71-75 mph. SL displays good sweeping action, creating a distinct look off the FB. Works well to the edges of the zone and induces chase from RHH late in counts. T2245, 2205 average rpm.
CH: 74-79 mph. Fading CH that creates good separation off the FB. Can play well to both sides and generate weak contact when located down. T1952, 1529 average rpm.
