This summer, the best uncommitted Class of 2027 prospects will head to LakePoint Sports in Emerson, GA for the premier Prep Baseball Report Future Games. For the first time ever, the state of California will be bringing two teams: Team NorCal and Team SoCal. For the next three weeks leading up to the event we will be previewing each player that will be putting their talents on display in front of a plethora of college coaches from across the entire country.
Bryce Farris is a right-handed third baseman and outfielder from Whitney High. Farris, standing 6-foot-0, is ranked as the second best third baseman in the state.
This season for the Wildcats, Farris excelled both in the batter’s box and on the base paths.
At the plate, Farris was all over pitchers, hitting .341 with 31 hits and 20 runs batted in. Additionally, Farris showed strong plate discipline, walking 11 times on the season.
Farris showed off his speed when on the basepaths, swiping 13 bags during the season.
At the NorCal Future Games Tryout, Farris was a standout of the day.
Farris’ 6.76 sixty yard dash was the fourth fastest on the day.
Farris’ 99.9 MPH exit velocity was the seventh highest of the day. Farris also had the seventh farthest ball hit of the day, hitting the ball a whopping 363 ft.
Even though it’s not one of his primary positions, Harris stepped on the mound during the event and he excelled by posting an event fastest 90 MPH fastball.
The righty showed off the arm in the outfield, posting an event best 96 MPH outfield velocity on the radar gun.
Farris’ speed, arm strength, and power makes the utility player a must watch talent when he takes the field at LakePoint.
“The swiss army knife of the event in my opinion, Farris is another player who I’ve gotten to follow pretty closely this high school season, he led all of Whitney in hitting this year. Farris got his day going by running a 6.76 60 YD dash with a top speed of 20.4 mph. Ferris weighed in at 6’0” 174.4 lbs, 151 (right hand), & 131 (left hand) for grip strength, and a max vertical of 26.2 inches. Farris possesses a bunch of tools all over the diamond, in the outfield he had an even best 96 mph and displayed athletic actions to where he could potentially be able to play out on the grass in the future. On the infield, Farris has got a nice pair of hands, needs to work on going to get the ball and pick his hop more, but the third base spot is where I see him playing the most when he gets. Farris also got a chance to step on the mound during the game and hit an event best 90 mph, the slider was 73-74 with an average spin rate of 2205 rpm, the changeup was 76-77 mph with an average spin rate of 1529 rpm. I like the swing of Farris, he isn’t afraid to take hacks and be aggressive in the box. Farris posted his highest EV of the day at 99.9 mph with an average EV of 93.4 mph, which was one of the highest of the day. Tons of upside in all categories for Farris, going to be a fun summer to follow and see the maturity break out. ”- Hank LoForte, Associate Director NorCal
