Cade McElmoyl, a 2027 3B/RHP from Exeter Union, turned heads at the Prep Baseball Future Games Tryout in NorCal this past weekend. Standing at 6-foot-1 and weighing 183 pounds, his athletic frame projects well for future physical development. In the infield, McElmoyl showcased a strong arm with a top velocity of 87 mph, paired with smooth footwork and reliable hands, making him a solid defender at third base. On the mound, his fastball ranged 84-86 mph with a spin rate of 2150 RPM, showing good command and potential for growth as he adds strength. His curveball, sitting 69-71 mph with a 2250 RPM spin rate, displayed tight 11/5 break and swing-and-miss potential. At the plate, McElmoyl posted a max exit velocity of 96.9 mph (91.3 mph average) and a max batted distance of 369 feet, highlighting above-average power with a gap-to-gap approach. McElmoyl had a streak of about 5-6 balls in BP where he was hitting them off of the hitters eye in centerfield, it was crazy to see that much power potential. His 60-yard dash time of 7.28 seconds reflects solid speed for his size. Grip strength measured at 110 pounds, indicating good bat control and potential for increased power output. Defensively versatile and a true two-way talent, McElmoyl’s combination of arm strength, hitting prowess, and athleticism marks him as a high-upside prospect in the 2027 class
