Emerson, Ga. - Today marked the opening of the best uncommitted class of 2027 event with prospects arriving to LakePoint Sports in Emerson, GA for the Prep Baseball Future Games. This is the first year that California will have two teams: Northern California and Southern California. The event opened on Wednesday with a traditional showcase workout consisting of a 60-yard dash, on-field BP, defensive run-through, and athletic testing. Prep Baseball's technology partners, TrackMan, VALD, Blast Motion, and Vizual Edge were used in every step of the data collection to help paint a full picture of each player's profile.
Each of the California players stood out in their own way throughout the day, but these five players stood out for the combined workout performance.
Here are the Team NorCal and Team SoCal California standouts:

Mason Hackler SS / RHP / Turlock High, CA / 2027Rankings StateRank: 167 / POS: 48
Hackler showed up and performed well during his BP round highlighted by a 97.9 MPH max exit velocity while averaging 91.0 MPH throughout. His simple, efficient swing—anchored by high hands and a natural lofted path—produced consistent carry off the bat. Hackler also set a new high in bat speed at 72.6 MPH, flashing the ability to generate power with minimal effort. The barrel stayed in the zone with intent to lift, making it an all around productive BP session. Hackler stands at 6’1 180lbs and throws a max infield velocity of 83 mph. The footwork needs to get cleaned up a bit, but his actions still play. He portrays more of a 2B right now, but with some more strength and added quickness, the corners might be an option. The bat is going to be a huge factor for Hackler in the next couple years.

Hadfield does a great job of attacking the baseball with a quick transfer. Big fan of the upside from Hadfield, he’s only going to get better. Cade McElmoyl 3B / Exeter Union High, CA / 2027McElmoyl showed a controlled, powerful stroke with clear intent to lift, highlighted by a 93.4 MPH max exit velocity and a 360-foot max batted distance. A strong round overall that pointed to emerging power with the developing frame. McElmoyl will be able to stay in the left side because his bat has huge upside, the arm has got more in the tank, he has a max infield velocity of 84 mph and plays low enough to be an athletic corner guy. First base can be in the mix as well, but his athleticism right now is good enough. McElmoyl isn’t going to be flashy but he will make the routine play.

Garcia makes the trip from the Philippines all the way to Georgia, he had a max velocity of 71 mph and had pop times between 2.18-2.20. Garcia has a shot to stay behind the dish, he has a quick transfer but needs to work on his arm strength. Garcia blocks and receives well, along with some athleticism. His pullside approach produced loud contact, and the ability to create quickness through the zone was evident in his 23.8 max hand speed (22.7 avg). A high-impact bat with serious strength and natural lift to the pullside. Jackson plays more like a second baseman in the defensive workout, he plays SS for his high school, so the left side is familiar.
