A strong 6-foot-2, 207-pound frame at first base, the left handed hitter showed well on Thursday afternoon going 2-for-2 with easy power at the plate. One of our top performers at Central IL summer ID with a 102.5 exit velo. Showed his ability to hit to both gaps with power, barreled one to the opposite field for an RBI double. Looked the part in the field as well having no trouble picking balls over at first.
1B Landon Beckman (Normal University, 2027) was another name that made his Prep Baseball event debut at the Corn Crib. Standing in a strong 6-foot-2, 207-pound frame, Beckman put up the day’s loudest round of batting practice. The left-handed hitter showed an easy swing with controlled aggression, producing a max exit velocity of 102.5 mph (avg. 93 mph), both the top metrics from the event. His Blast numbers were equally as impressive, averaging 72.2 mph with his bat speed, the third highest from the event.
