There’s a lot to like about RHP Martin Kinnane (Lockport), who stands in an upside 6-foot-4, 170-pound frame with plenty of room for development still to come. He lacked some control during his outing, but still showed intrigue on the mound with his loose, easy actions down the mound, also showing a clean arm path with acceleration out front. His fastball sat 84-86 mph, topping out at 87.2 mph with clear ride through the zone (avg. 17.4” IVB), and he also mixed in a mid-70s curveball with short actions. Kinnane finished the day striking out three in 1 ⅔ innings of work, allowing one hit and three walks. A must-know arm in Illinois.

One of the biggest winners from this year’s event was RHP Martin Kinnane (Lockport, 2026). At one of our Preseason ID events in 2023, we saw Kinnane’s fastball sit 78-82 mph, but after an off-season of work, the 6-foot-4, 175-pound arm worked his fastball up to 88.3 mph with ease, while sitting 86-88 mph with ride/carry through the zone. His curveball sat in the mid-70s with sharp bite, showing true control of the pitch (80% strikes), and he also displayed a mid-70s changeup with feel. His ability to control his long levers, his projectable frame, and current make-up have propelled him as a high-level uncommitted follow moving forward.
RHP Martin Kinnane (Lockport, 2026) made for a good look during our time in Lockport. Listed at a projectable 6-foot-2, 150-pounds Kinnane syncs up his long limbs seamlessly and is a easy mover while on the mound. Kinnane ran his fastball up 83 mph that flashed some life through the zone. As for his offspeeds, he featured a breaking ball that flashed sharp 11/5 action that has some potential to be an out-pitch as he continues to develop. He rounded out his three-pitch mix with a true changeup that he showed confidence in and was able to throw all around the zone.
