Ranked No. 18 in the state's sophomore class. Stands in a 6-foot-1, 180-pound athletic frame with more to come. Started at shortstop and batted fifth. Finished the day 2-for-2 with a double, two RBI and a walk. Stood out defensively during in-and-out, showing confident hands with a clean transfer, quality footwork and an accurate arm across the diamond. At the plate, stays simple from the right side with a slightly uphill path through the zone. A name to continue to monitor in the sophomore class.
Ranked No. 18 in Illinois' freshman class. Stands in an athletic 6-foot-1, 180-pound frame with room for more to come. In this look, got the start on the mound and worked three innings, allowing six hits and two earned runs while walking two and striking out four. Fastball sat 80-83 mph, mixed in a slider at 73-75 mph, a changeup at 76 mph and a curveball at 71 mph. Also got a look at shortstop in the game prior, where his footwork and clean actions during in-and-out stood out. A sophomore name to follow in the state.
Another arm who worked out as a position player but it's hard to deny his talent and upside on the mound. The 6-foot-1, 180-pound, broad-shouldered, athletic right-handed arm started his day running a 6.67 60. He then proceeded to throw a polished ‘pen flooding the zone with his 83-86 mph fastball working with a clean, easy, athletic delivery that projects for much more to come down the road. He repeated well throughout and gives off starter vibes working with a four-pitch arsenal as well. He landed his 71-72 mph curveball in the zone 100% of the time and averaged 2409 rpm on his mid-70s slider which featured more horizontal action. The changeup is also a go to offering, flashing big arm-side action. One of the top prospects in Central Illinois.

RHP Nic Bralts (Champaign Central, 2028) has continued to show above average metrics on the mound in event. Athletic 6-foot, 171-pound frame with room to fill in. The right-hander possessed a simple, controlled delivery, moving athletically down the mound, with a high leg lift into a tall/fall finish. He also showcased a quick, compact ¾ arm action. Bralts didn’t allow a single run or hit through his two innings of work. The right-hander was efficient in his second inning of work, working a 1-2-3 inning with two strikeouts to end the inning. His fastball played with arm-side run through the zone at 82-84 mph, topping 85.9 mph with a IVB max of 20.2” and a HM max of 15.9”. His curveball was 71-72 mph with a max spin rate of 2,225 rpm. He showed a feel for spin with his slider at 74-77 mph that was 2,400+ rpm. He also flashed a changeup at 75 mph with some arm-side run and a HM max of 15.5”.

It is hard to find someone who had as strong of a weekend as Nic Bralts did. The 6-foot, 167-pound infielder finished the weekend 14-for-20 with seven runs driven in. Bralts has a louder presence in the box than most, but is able to hone in everything going into the swing that found barrel after barrel. Nic Bralts has plenty of athleticism and projectability, and is certainly a name to keep an eye as he enters his sophomore season. Bralts impressed on the mound on Sunday as he struck out five batters through four plus innings. The right-hander operates from a simple, controlled delivery with a high leg lift and a tall/fall approach. Quick, compact, short arm action from a ¾ slot. His fastball sat 81-84 mph with arm-side run. Mixed in a sharp curveball that sat 65-68 mph.
RHP Nic Bralts (Champaign Central, 2028) shined during the event as he showed his athleticism on the mound. Bralts has an athletic 6-foot, 167-pound frame with room to add strength. The right-hander operates from a simple, controlled delivery with a long, clean arm action from a ¾ slot. His fastball sat 81-84 mph while topping out at 85 mph, third best in the event. The pitch had an average spin rate of 2319 RPM with an average induced vertical break of 20.9 inches, showing advanced metrics across the board. Bralts also showed a slider that sat 72-75 mph with an average spin rate of 2398 RPM (2456 RPM max) with an average horizontal movement of -3.7 inches (-5.1 inches max). His changeup sat 70-72 mph while showing heavy fade with an average horizontal movement of 17.5 inches (21.5 inches max) with an average spin rate of 1736 RPM. Bralts rounded out his four-pitch mix with a sharp curveball that sat 66-68 mph with an average horizontal movement of -4.1 inches and an average induced vertical break of -4.2 inches.
