C Shane Torres (Waubonsie Valley, 2027) continues to look like one of the premier left-handed bats in the state. There’s plenty of present strength in his 5-foot-10, 190-pound frame, and he’s able to generate violent bat-speed that stays through the zone with length. The hit tool carries the profile at the moment as he shows a mix of both bat-to-ball skills and power, middle of the order type bat at the next level. Finished the week 3-for-5 with two RBIs, two runs scored and a walk.
Torres, currently ranked No. 29 in the state, is a strong left-handed hitter that worked on the barrel with some lift to the big part of the field, also showing the ability to stay through it the other way with strength (T93.2 mph EV). Defensively, Torres posted a 2.00 pop time, while reaching 75 mph out of the chute.

C/OF Shane Torres (Waubonsie Valley, 2027) is an upside backstop to know in IL. Listed at 5-foot-10, 165-pounds, the left-handed hitter has sneaky pop in his bat while throwing his hands at the ball with controlled aggression. Wide base that shifts his weight into his back hip, loads his hands in rhythm before firing through with an uphill path.
C/1B Keegan Seipp (O’Fallon, 2027) and C/INF Shane Torres (Waubonsie Valley, 2027) are a couple prospects that showed well with the bat throughout the day. Seipp, a physical 6-foot-2, 200-pound left-handed hitter, creates impressive power off the bat from his simple load, working with an uphill path and middle of the field approach. Torres, a right-handed hitter, creates easy jump off the barrel, working with a pull-side approach and uphill path with intent to lift.
