1B/RHP Cole Clower (Providence Catholic, 2028) continues to look the part as one of the top freshmen in the state, currently slotting in at No. 4 in IL and No. 108 nationally. He has made some noticeable strength gains to his frame, now standing in at 6-foot-1, 186-pounds. He took one of the best rounds of BP on the day, showing a balanced and controlled operation from the left side with whip in the barrel and strength at impact, reaching up to 95 mph for his EV while averaging 90 mph (T349’). Clower is an athletic defender up the middle as well. He utilizes a reliable two-hand gather while playing through the ball and playing on the move. His arm played strong and accurate as well, as he reached a peak velocity of 86 mph across the diamond. On the mound, Clower sat 84-86 mph with his fastball. There’s still some polish to come with his off-speed, which is as expected for a prospect his age, but his curveball flashed sharp, 11/5 actions at times, working it low. He also mixed in a sinker that was up to 84.5 mph with an average of 15.3 inches of horizontal action.

INF/RHP Cole Clower (Minooka) is a physical prospect with a bright future on both sides of the ball. Standing in at 6-foot-2, 160-pounds, the left-handed hitter has a confident look to him in the box, utilizing his levers to create easy jump off the barrel. He’s a smooth defender with some feel for the position, and his arm is plenty strong to stick on the left side of the infield (T79 mph). On the mound, he battled through a tough first inning before finding it and settling in to throw three strong innings. He has some advanced movement patterns for his age with hip/shoulder separation and good layback in his arm, helping him create a fastball that plays in the low-80s.
