The 2026's, 2027s Illinois rankings were recently updated before a busy summer ahead. The same is the case for the 2028s in Illinois. This update is coming just a little over a month from our prvious update to the freshman class. With the being said, we are going to wait to expand the list until after a busy summer full of tournaments, events and showcases, such as the Illinois State Games and Super Sophomore Games. These veents will undoubtedly shine more line on a host of new players and 2028s from around the state who are deserving to be on our list. 

All the freshmen in this top-10 update have played huge roles for their varsity club this spring.

The top of the class remains the same in this update as OF Carver Cohn (McHenry) holds down the top spot. Cohn, an athletic switch-hitting outfielder, has been leading off and playing center field for McHenry who is currently a top-five team in the state. Cohn recently broke the single-season runs scored record at McHenry HS. 

RHP/C Anderson Kaufmann (Alton), RHP Jack Postma (Barrington), RHP/INF Cole Clower (Providence Catholic and CIF Quincy Fulton (Newton) round out the top-five, which remains unchanged.
