RHP Traxton Roberts (Armstrong, 2027) was dominant on Tuesday as he struck out all six batters that he faced. Roberts continues to put on big-time performances like he did down in Georgia when he was a member of Team Illinois during the Future Games a couple weeks ago. Athletic 6-foot-2, 175-pound frame. The right-hander operates from a simple, controlled delivery with a high leg lift. Full, quick arm action from a ¾ arm slot. His fastball sat 88-90 mph while topping out at 91.6 mph. He mixed in a sharp slider that sat 79-82 mph while also utilizing a changeup that sat 81-83 mph with heavy fade. Roberts rounded out his pitch-mix with a curveball that sat 68-72 mph with downer action. He showed confidence in all four pitches while utilizing the changeup and slider as potential out-pitches. An incredible arm that is still on the market and sure to get plenty of attention.

FROM 2025 FUTURE GAMES:
RHP Traxton Roberts (Armstrong) was far and away one of the biggest winners on the mound for Team Illinois. The 6-foot-2, 175-pound right-hander has a simple and raw delivery, working with an up-tempo pace into a slightly crouched balance point, working slightly across body with his stride. He has a loose and uninterrupted arm action with a higher ¾ release, sitting 89-91 mph with the fastball with over 2,400 rpm and arm-side run. He showed a knack to spin his curveball over 2,600 rpm, showing a bigger 11/5 shape with depth, 72-74 mph. He also showed a shorter bullet slider with a distinctly different shape, playing around 79-81 mph. Lastly he went to a heavy fading changeup in the low-80s, reaching over 20” of run at times. Over his two innings of work, Roberts only allowed one hit with no runs, one walk and four strikeouts.

RHP/INF Traxton Roberts (Armstrong, 2027) looked to have one of the highest ceilings in attendance. He has a lean and wiry 6-foot-2, 175-pound frame, and it looks like he still has some growing left to do. He has a clean delivery with some whip in his arm out front, topping at 89 mph with the fastball and flashing a wipeout curveball with sweep at 64-67 mph (T2386 rpm), still some rawness overall but very projectable movement patterns. At the plate, the right-handed hitter worked on the barrel and on top of the baseball with a repeatable swing, peaking at 97 mph for his EV while using the whole field.

RHP Traxton Roberts (Armstrong, 2027) continues to impress with each watch. A standout at this event a year prior, Roberts’ stuff has clearly made a jump. Standing at a long-levered 6-foot-1, 175-pounds, he is a controlled mover down the mound paired with a noticeably quick arm. His fastball sat 86-88 mph on this day for strikes with carry (avg. 17.6” IVB), and an average spin rate of 2316 rpm (T2379). His curveball (avg. 2310 rpm) sat 71-75 mph with sweeping-action for strikes 60% of the time. His 76-78 mph changeup flashed as well with an average of 17.6” HM. A must-know name for the spring.
