Another former Future Gamer and Baylor commit who shined last week was the junior shortstop out of Sterlington. The Panthers came down to the Jay Patterson Tournament and we were able to see them last Thursday against St. Amant. He picked up a RBI in his first at-bat, after grounding into a fielder's choice with a man on third and 0 outs. Sheets then hit a double on the first pitch that he saw in the 5th inning, but it was his at-bat in the Top of the 8th that was the difference maker. Sterlington had blown a 10-6 lead in the bottom of the 7th and were forced to go to extra innings. Sheets stepped up to the plate with 1 out and nobody on in the bottom of the 8th with the game tied at 10-10 and drove the first pitch that he saw off the base of the wall in RF for a stand-up double that really gave Sterlington the momentum. He would then come around to score on a Brody Belanger double and then Panthers ended up winning the game 12-10. We've said it once and we'll say it again, Sheets is a guy that you want on your club and in your lineup because of the tool-set that he brings, but probably more improtantly, because of the desire to want to win. He's a winner through and through, which is why we're big fans.
