Prep Baseball Louisiana 2025 Playoff Performers: Quarterfinal Round

Now that the 2025 LHSAA high school baseball playoffs have started, we feel that it is a perfect time to highlight some of the top performers from the second round of the playoffs.  After the completion of each playoff round, we will update this story to continue to highlight the top performances.  Be sure to follow us, across all our social media platforms, for non-stop coverage of the 2025 LHSAA high school baseball playoffs!

TOP PLAYOFF PERFORMERS (QUARTERFINAL ROUND)

John David Alexander OF / RHP / Barbe, LA / 2026

The former Future Gamer and Texas A&M commit had a stellar weekend at the plate for the Bucs in their quarterfinal round series win over Dutchtown.  Alexander went 4-for-7 (.571) with 2 home runs, 2 runs batted in, and 3 runs scored..

William Power SS / Teurlings Catholic, LA / 2026

The uncommitted junior swung the bat well in the Rebels quarterfinal series sweep of Archbishop Shaw.  Power went 4-for-6 (.571) with 2 doubles, 5 runs batted in, and 4 runs scored.

Miller Sheets SS / Sterlington, LA / 2026

The former Future Gamer and Baylor commit went off last weekend in the Panthers quarterfinal series win over French Settlement.  Sheets went 6-for-12 (.500) with a grand slam, 2 doubles, 4 runs batted in, and 4 runs scored.

JohnDavid Hidalgo RHP / Catholic New Iberia, LA / 2025

The Southwest Mississippi Community College recruit came through in a big way last weekend in the quarterfinal round of the playoffs against St. Louis Catholic.  Hidalgo earned the Game 2 win in relief after tossing 1 2/3 shutout innings and then started and earned the win in Game 3 by throwing a complete-game allowing 1 earned run with 1 walk and 8 strikeouts.

Tanner Webb RHP / Catholic New Iberia, LA / 2025

In a win-or-go home Game 3 for the Tigers against Sulphur, Webb delivered a spectacular performance.  The Northeast Texas Community College recruit tossed a complete-game one-hit shutout with 0 walks and 5 strikeouts.

Brecken Bordelon UTL / Barbe, LA / 2025

The Baton Rouge Community College recruit went 3-for-6 (.500) with a double, triple, 1 run batted in, and 1 walk for the Bucs in the quarterfinals against Dutchtown.

Josh Lim SS / RHP / Dunham, LA / 2025

The Louisiana-Lafayette recruit did a little bit of everything for the Tigers last weekend in their quarterfinal round series upset win over top-ranked Parkview Baptist.  Lim went 3-for-8 (.375) at the plate with 3 runs scored, 2 walks, and a stolen base.  He also threw 4 2/3 innings of relief and allowed 1 earned run with 4 strikeouts.

Seth Leger RHP / Erath, LA / 2025

The LSU-Alexandria recruit was spectacular in the Bobcats Game 1 win over Jena in their quarterfinal round series win.  Leger tossed 6 shutout innings and allowed only 3 hits with 2 walks and 6 strikeouts.

Owen Stempel RHP / Archbishop Hannan, LA / 2025

The former Senior Future Gamer and Southeastern Louisiana recruit tossed 3 no-hit innings with 1 walk and 5 strikeouts in the Hawks Game 1 win over Loyola College Prep.

Cameron Stutes OF / Barbe, LA / 2025

The Bossier Parish Community College recruit went 3-for-7 (.429) with a triple and a run scored in the Bucs quarterfinal round series sweep over 10th seeded Dutchtown.

Jace Crane LHP / Dunham, LA / 2025

The Nunez Community College recruit earned the Game 1 win for the Tigers in their quarterfinal round series upset win over #1 Parkview Baptist.  Crane went 5 innings and allowed 2 earned runs on 3 hits with 3 walks and 2 strikeouts.

Jairus Miller LHP / Barbe, LA / 2025

The McNeese State recruit moved his season record to 13-0 last week with a win in Game 2 against Dutchtwon in the quarterfinal round of the playoffs.  Miller tossed a complete-game shutout and allowed only 2 hits with 2 walks and 10 strikeouts.

Will Andrade RHP / Holy Cross, LA / 2025

Andrade delivered another stellar outing for the Tigers last week in Game 1 over Acadiana.  He tossed 5 innings and allowed 1 run and 0 earned runs on 4 hits with 1 walk and 9 strikeouts.

Kash Martin SS / Westlake, LA / 2025

The Bossier Parish Community College recruit went 4-for-6 (.667) with 4 runs scored, a walk, and had a stolen base in the Rams quarterfinal round series win.

Christian Wold RHP / 1B / South Beauregard, LA / 2025

Wold came through again in the quarterfinal round of the playoffs for the Golden Knights.  He tossed 6 1/3 innings and gave up 0 earned runs with 1 walk and 6 strikeouts, while also going 2-for-7 at the plate with a home run, 4 runs batted in, and 3 runs scored.

Hadley Hardesty RHP / 1B / Westlake, LA / 2026

Hardesty played an important role on both sides of the ball in the Rams quarterfinal round playoff series win.  He went 4-for-7 (.571) at the plate with a home run, double, 3 runs batted in, and 2 runs scored, and also picked up the Game 1 win on the mound by tossing 6 1/3 innings allowing 2 earned runs with 4 walks and 11 strikeouts.

Lucas Lawrence LHP / Catholic (BR), LA / 2026

The former Future Gamer and Southern Miss commit was dominant in Game 1 against John Curtis last week in the quarterfinal round of the playoffs.  Lawrence tossed a complete-game shutout with 8 strikeouts to lead the Bears to the 4-0 win.

Cole Flanagan LHP / Sam Houston, LA / 2025

The Louisiana-Lafayette recruit led the Broncos to the Game 2 quarterfinal series win over Slidell last weekend.  Flanagan tossed a complete-game and allowed 0 earned runs with 0 walks and 8 strikeouts.

Karson Trichel RHP / Ouachita Christian, LA / 2025

The Nicholls State recruit led the Eagles to the upset win over 5th ranked Glenrbook last week.  Trichel tossed 7 innings and allowed 1 earned run with 2 walks and 9 strikeouts, and also 1-for-4 at the plate with a RBI.

Zant Gurney LHP / Live Oak, LA / 2026

The junior southpaw delivered in a win-or-go home Game 2 quarterfinal round playoff matchup last week against Northshore.  Gurney tossed a complete-game shutout and allowed only 5 hits with 1 walk and 5 strikeouts.

Lawton Littleton LHP / Barbe, LA / 2027

The state's sophomore southpaw was brilliant once again for the Bucs in Game 1 of their quarterfinal series against Dutchtown.  Littleton tossed a complete-game shutout and allowed only 4 hits with 2 walks and 12 strikeouts..

Gregory Ruiz III OF / SS / Holy Cross, LA / 2027

Ruiz III had a monster weekend for the Tigers in their quarterfinal round series sweep over Acadiana.  He went 4-for-6 (.667) with 2 triples, 1 run batted in, 4 runs scored, and 2 walks.

Owen Galley RHP / Sam Houston, LA / 2027

The sophomore right-hander led the Broncos to the Game 1 win over Slidell last weekend, after tossing a complete-game shutout with 0 walks and 3 strikeouts.
