VA/DC Class of 2025 Rankings: Top 225

For the second time in 2024, the 2025 class receives a rankings update. While the class will not expand from it's place at 225, there has been a large amount of movement after a full high school season of player evaluation. Here are some highlighted players inside of the Top 225.

    • JT Brown has has a standout season at Matoaca. The athletic 6-foot-1 infielder hit just over .450 for the regular season, plated 27 runners, and only had two strikeouts in 51 at bats. Aggressive approach at the plate, solid bat to ball skills, and the athleticism continues to make gains.

    • A trio of Landstown products have made a rise in the 2025 class. Cam Tellefsen (ODU), George Chevalier (VMI), and Colin Kim (Longwood) each bring their own talents to the table, but each has flashed the ability to impact the game with some quality tools. Tellefsen is a strong, physical bat with some power potential in the swing and frame. Chevalier is a high effort, high energy arms with well above average arm speed. Usually sitting in the upper 80's and we have seen him up to 90 earlier this spring. Reliever profile right now with his two pitch mix and high intent delivery. Lastly, there is Colin Kim. We had not gotten a good look on Kim in quite some time, but this spring he has flashed some ability. Well above average arm strength in the outfield, above average runner, and left handed hit tool type of bat. Contact drive with solid plate coverage and can use his speed from the left side of the plate.

    • Another couple of uncommitted beach products having standout springs are a pair of uncommitted 2025's from First Colonial High School. Wes Stubbe makes a move up a few spots. Stubbe has anchored shortstop for the Patriots all spring. While he may not be a shortstop at the next level, he continues to show added athleticism to pair with his ability to impact the baseball at the plate. Stubbe is willing to make adjustments in counts and has a solid combo of hit tool and some occasional power. Joining Stubbe is FC first baseman, Keegan Haesler. Haesler is just moving into the rankings after a strong four to five looks this spring. Thin and narrow left/left first baseman that is more than athletic enough to move to an outfield spot. Advanced hand eye coordination, plate coverage, and above average hitterish traits. Next step for Haesler? Continuing to show the ability to impact the baseball on a more frequent basis. There is no doubt that Haesler has a knack to hit, but it would really help to see him start to turn it loose and impact the ball for extra bases on a more consistent basis.
