As the Oregon high school baseball season nears an end, it is time for a player rankings update. Today, we start a three-week stretch of state rankings updates and we begin with the class of 2025. Featuring a total of 100 prospects, the class of 2025 list showcases high top-end talent and a deep pool of productive players. 

As always, the evaluation process is a fluid and ongoing process with multiple viewings in order to get the best feel for players abilities. It’s important to note that as players continue their development some show marked improvement at a much more rapid pace. That doesn’t indicate that other players got worse or went backwards, it’s just how player development works. As the year unfolds, players make improvements and new prospects pop up on the radar expanding the Prep Baseball rankings universe.  In addition to the evaluations of players, our scouts, both those in Oregon and nationally, have also had multiple discussions with each other to review our individual lists and then make adjustments based on what we've each seen.

Uncommitted '25 Kruz Schoolcraft (Sunset) takes #1

One of the top remaining uncommitted prospects in the country, '25 Kruz Schoolcraft (Sunset) climbs to the #1 overall spot in Oregon after a somewhat recent reclassification into the Junior class. With an extra long, high waisted frame at 6'8, he generates tremendous leverage both on the slope as well as the plate. While he gets exceeding high marks for his pitching dominance, he's a more than capable hitter with well above average power from the left side. Up to 95 mph this spring, he routinly can hold 90-94 deep into starts with late ASR/sink to pair with a heavy, above average CH and sweeping SL.

‘25 RHP River Hamilton (Barlow/Oregon State) comes in at #2 in the most recent update to no fault of his own. The uber talented righty was 93-94 this spring on our look with an eclectic SL and CB for his 3rd offering. Possesses an extremely high ceiling and there’s every indication he will continue to trend upward on the national scene as the summer season kicks in.

FB: 93-94 (late life, sizzle)
SL: 77-78 (2600+, sharp when on)
CB: 72-75

‘25 OF Slater de Brun (Summit/Vanderbilt) is the top position player in the class thanks to his elite combination of power and speed. A strong, compact athlete, he has another gear that very few prospects can match as he continues to impress since his unofficial breakout summer in 2023. 

‘25 Mark Wiepert (Wilsonville/Oregon State) and ‘25 Isaac Pfeifer (Tualatin/Arizona State) have been battling against each other in the 2025 class for several years and updates now. Overall, both have some of the best power potential in the class with the ability to drive the ball to all fields. 

Uncommitted players to watch:

‘25 Brady Ackerman (Canby) made huge strides this year as a consistent offensive threat. The bat has always been his calling card with his above average bat speed and offensive potential. He’s been on a tear this spring though as his mature approach and pitch recognition skills have peaked when he’s emerging with more strength. Overall he’s one of the more polished bats in the class and should be a must follow for college coaches this summer

‘25 Reid Linkmeyer (Liberty) has some of the best bat speed and raw power in the class. Carries a projectable, athletic frame at 6’3, 205 with a wide build. Peak exit velocity this winter at Preseason All-State was an absurd 108.4 mph while generating bat speed up to 84.1 mph. Also has plenty of arm talent and was 86 mph across the diamond. 

‘25 Boyd Messman (Sprague) is another offensive minded player who showed promise and tools at previous events over the years and really cashed in on his potential this spring season. Generates easy bat speed from a lean, wiry strong frame with a balanced set up and easy bat speed. Solid defensive catcher behind the plate who can play low and has the arm strength needed to stick at C
