The Crusaders of Cardinal Gibbons struck early and often, as Gibbons claimed a 11-1 victory over the Broughton Capitals Friday afternoon. Jakub Mudd put the Crusaders on the board first with solo blast to leftfield in the top of the second inning. Gibbons posted 3 runs in both the 2nd and 3rd innings, before blowing the game open with 5 runs in the top of the 5th inning. 

Cam Thompson was responsible for the Caps only run with an RBI in the home half of the 3rd inning. 

Senior Griffin Jackson was dominate on the mound, in the win, allowing 3 hits and striking out 7 in a 5-inning affair. 

Broughton concludes the 2024 season 20-7, Gibbons will travel to Greenville on Tuesday to take on DH Conley in a third-round match up.
