Uncommitted, currently ranked No. 46 in the state but should be making a big climb in the rankings update coming soon. Compact, muscle-bound 5-foot-9, 190-pound frame. Started in center and hit out of the two-hole in all three games. Advanced defender in the outfield, ultra-quick feet and covers ground easily, excellent reads off the bat, explosive first step, made a diving sprawled out save on a ball destined for the gap, proceeded to get up and fire a strike to second and make it a close play. Offensively, continues to make big strides. Aggressive look to his overall game which translates offensively. Aggressive controlled swings, feel for the barrel, present bat strength and works gap-to-gap. Short and direct to the ball. His 6.81 60 time plays way up on the field. Was getting elite runs times during the Wednesday matchup against Mount Carmel; 4.18 on an infield single and 3.82 on a bunt, also 11.66 seconds from home to third on an inside-the-park homer. Multi-sport athlete who has really started to come into his own this spring. Need to know 2027 name heading into the summer. FINAL LINE: 3-for-9, HR, 2B, 4 RBI, SB, 2BB.
Uncommitted, Cartolano made multiple clutch plays in CF that set the tone for the defense last week. Also, had a nice week at the plate, going 5-for-11 with four walks, double, two RBIs, six runs, and four stolen bases.
Uncommitted. Currently ranked No. 46 in the state. Athletic, well-proportioned 5-foot-9, 190-pound frame with noticeable strength throughout. Batted seventh and played centerfield for Brother Rice. He continues to show to be a highly-athletic defender with the range and foot speed that should allow him to stick in center at the next level. He showed easy range from gap-to-gap multiple times in this look, and seems to have the tools necessary to get to every ball hit in his vicinity. A right-handed hitter, he was also on the barrel in this game, lacing a hard lineout to second base in his final at-bat. He also worked a deep count in the at-bat before, drawing a walk, and showing the ability to not expand the zone.
Cartolano continues to improve each time he gets in front of our staff, looking to have added some notable strength to his now 5-foot-9, 190-pound frame. He’s a premiere athlete for his age, turning in a 6.81 in the 60, and he creates impressive jump off his barrel with a 97 mph EV and a compact/strong swing. Cartolano also had a dynamic showing defensively; playing through the ball with quick feet, showing easy range, and displaying confident actions throughout his round in the outfield. His arm reached up to 86 mph from the crow-hop.

Cartolano has shown well all 3 days so far for the Sparks. Showing off his athleticism in the field by making diving plays in CF, before moving behind the dish to catch. At the plate, Cartolano is a spark plug for the Sparks offense, batting from the right side, going 3-for-3, stealing two bases, and driving in four. Another hitter from the Sparks to keep an eye on moving into the last two days of the tournament.
Cartolano impressed with his ability to make things happen towards the bottom of the lineup for the Sparks. Going 2-for-2 with a walk, a stolen base, and three RBsI. Follow moving forward this weekend. Also displayed athletic actions out in CF.
Gavin Stanislawski, Anthony Cartolano, Aidan Dillon, Mikey Watson, Jordan Culbreath and Brady Cunningham are just a few 2027s in attendance that showed well and are heading to Brother Rice next year. Of them, Stanislawski had one of the top all-around showings on the day. On the mound, he has a polished repertoire with a clean upside arm and fastball that topped at 82 mph. Stanislawski also had one of the more intriguing swings on the day, working highly-repeatable, short and flat through the zone with a knack for hard contact.
