Currently ranked No. 9 in Illinois, RHP Brady Cunningham (Brother Rice, 2027) has continued to trend up each time we see him. It's an easy delivery that maintains direction down the mound paired with a strong arm action and a high ¾ to over-the-top slot. His fastball sat 89-90 mph, topping out at 91 mph, showing carry through the zone. He paired it with a curveball that sat 75-79 mph with short, moderate action, and he also mixed in a straight, firm changeup at 82-83 mph. Standing in a physical 6-foot-2, 222-pound frame, he continues to impress not only on the mound but also with the bat. Cunningham is a high-follow name in Illinois’ 2027 class.

INF Brady Cunningham (Brother Rice, 2027) has added some lean strength to his already physical 6-foot-2, 222-pound frame, and it was quite apparent during his round of BP that his gains have paid off. Currently slotted at No. 9 in Illinois, the right-handed hitter worked on the barrel with an easy, rhythmic operation, repeating a simple yet strong swing with loud contact, averaging 93.7 mph for his EV while peaking at 105 mph, lifting his farthest ball 372’. He moves quite well for his size, recording a 6.76 in the 60, and he showed soft/confident hands on the infield with a strong arm across (T89 mph). High-follow that is also one of the top arms in the state.

RHP/CIF Brady Cunningham (Brother Rice) continues to solidify himself as one of the state’s top prospects in the incoming-sophomore class. Owning a physical 6-foot-2, 220-pound frame, Cunningham continues to get it done on both sides of the ball. From the right side of the plate, he showed calm confidence in the box with impressive bat-to-ball skills and easy power to the middle and pull-side of the field, finishing game play with two hits, one being a double to the left-center gap, and two RBIs. During the showcase, Cunningham posted an average exit velocity of 93.3 mph (T97.1 mph), while sending his farthest hit ball 364 feet. He was efficient in his two-inning stint on the mound, showing feel to throw his three-pitch mix for strikes. His fastball sat 82-85 mph, and topped out at 86.2 mph with ride through the zone. He turned to a curveball with 12/6 actions, and an upper-70s change-up with mostly straight actions.

Power: 97 max exit velocity, averaged 93.3 mph. 364’ max distance.
Arm: RH. INF - 84 mph. Shorter arm path quick, high 3/4 slot.
Defense: Fields ball out front, sure-handed, moves well to body sides, clean footwork.

The right-handed hitter showed no fear at the plate despite being just a freshman, working with an easy and simple operation with little perceived effort, he sees spin well and battles deep into counts, utilizing quality pitch selection, also attacking early in the count when he sees a pitch he likes. Already has some present power with a max EV of 93 mph in-event, projects into much more as he continues to develop.

INF Brady Cunningham (Brother Rice, 2027) was one of the more physical freshmen in attendance, listed at 6-foot-2, 205-pounds with present strength throughout. The right-handed hitter delivered a heavy barrel throughout his round of BP, averaging 87.3 mph for his EV with a max of 92.6 mph, staying on top of the baseball throughout his round. Power potential should continue to present itself as he matures and creates more loft in his swing.

INF/RHP Brady Cunningham (Brother Rice, 2027) stood out as a two-way prospect this weekend. A recent PBR Junior Future Games participant, Cunningham has been a standout at seemingly every tournament we’ve seen him at this summer and this weekend was no different. Cunningham stands in at a physical 6-foot-1, 195-pounds with strength throughout. Starting on the mound Sunday morning, Cunningham navigated a two-pitch mix to get himself through three scoreless innings, scattering three hits and two walks, while also punching out five in the outing. Cunningham’s fastball worked 78-79 mph, T80 with mostly 4-seam action. He paired the fastball with an 11/5-shaped breaking ball that seemed to be thrown with more conviction than previously seen this summer. Cunningham can also swing it at the dish. A right-handed hitter, Cunningham has a very simple setup and swing at the plate that manufactures easy power to both gaps. Cunningham collected two hits on Sunday morning, including a pull-side triple.

RHP/INF Brady Cunningham (Brother Rice) was another name to know from the 2027 Cangelosi Sparks squad that ended up taking home the Championship at their age group. Cunningham has a 6-foot-1, 195-pound, strong, advanced frame and true two-way potential. In a quick look on Friday he squared up a baseball to center field, showing strong wrists and a heavy barrel.

Cunningham impressed for the second day in a row with his offensive pop. He barreled a ball to deep center for the Sparks for a double. 

Cunningham has a large, physically imposing frame from the right side of the plate. Setting up tall, he has a medium leg-lift load, a level bat path with natural lift and barrel control. Was on the barrel going 3-for-3 with a double and two RBIs. 

Gavin Stanislawski, Anthony Cartolano, Aidan Dillon, Mikey Watson, Jordan Culbreath and Brady Cunningham are just a few 2027s in attendance that showed well and are heading to Brother Rice next year. Of them, Stanislawski had one of the top all-around showings on the day. On the mound, he has a polished repertoire with a clean upside arm and fastball that topped at 82 mph. Stanislawski also had one of the more intriguing swings on the day, working highly-repeatable, short and flat through the zone with a knack for hard contact.

Hit: RHH. Starts open and works back to even with a controlled stride.  Quick hands, flat path with some extension through contact, bat-speed.

Arm: RH. INF - 72 mph. Longer draw, loose into a 3/4 slot.
Defense: Plays into the center of the body, gathers through transfer and plays with body control on the move.
Run: 7.29 runner in the 60. 

Delivery: Stretch only, repeatable actions, works downhill.
Arm Action: RH. Long, loose arm action, over the top slot.
FB: T81, 80-81 mph. Four seam with easy life through the zone. T1943, 1903 average rpm.
