Verbally committed to Illinois Central JC.
MIF Eli Roedell (Washington, 2026) continued to look the part of an uncommitted name with upside at the Central Illinois Summer ID. He stands in a wiry 6-foot-4, 180-pound frame with plenty more room for strength to come. A switch-hitter, he showed well on both sides, showcasing an easy and loose swing with more power still to come while peaking at 93.2 mph (336’ max distance), per Trackman. There’s clear bat speed through the zone, averaging 70.8 mph, a top-5 metric from the day. A 7.14 runner, Roedell had a confident glove during the defensive portion with quality actions to pair. He’s an upside and uncommitted name in the state’s incoming senior class.

Uncommitted, standing in at a well-proportioned 6-foot-3, 180-pound frame with some strength present. Roedell batted second for Washington in the designated hitter role and was all over the barrel in Friday’s game. The switch hitter showcased some natural lift, sending a ball to deep center field for a solo homer to open up the scoring in the first. He would finish the game going 3-for-3 with two runs scored. Roedell appears to be an uncommitted name to know in the junior class.
Uncommitted. Athletic 6-foot-3, 180-pound frame with room to add strength. Started in right field and hit out of the two-hole. Roedell finished the night going 1-for-3 with a single. The left-handed hitter operates from a wide, balanced stance with no stride. Compact swing with a flat bat path that is direct to the ball. His long levers allowed him to connect on a ball that was up and away for his single. Showed a strong arm pre-game in right field.
Along with Morton, Washington HS was well represented by talented 2026s as well in Anson Zaiser, Haydon Hawksworth and Eli Roedell. Of the three, Zaiser made some of the most impactful contact at the plate, peaking at 89.7 mph, averaging 86.5 mph, meaning he stayed on the barrel with hard contact throughout his round. He takes an intentful, aggressive swing and stays on-plane through the zone.
