C Lucas Beaty (Normal Community, 2027) impressed our staff this spring for the 3rd Place finishing Ironmen, and continued to look the part at our event this past week. He’s a multi-sport athlete that plays QB in the fall, standing at 5-foot-11, 183-pounds with strength and athleticism throughout. Beaty took one of the more impressive rounds of catcher defense, showing a quick and easy transfer with throws that played on the bag. His best bullet down to second was 79 mph, and his pop time range was 1.93-2.04, the best of the event. Up the middle he showed athletic actions and a confident glove with a quality arm across the diamond (84 mph). A right-handed hitter, Beaty worked direct to the ball and produced a max exit velocity of 94 mph and a max batted distance of 368 feet. Beaty is an uncommitted name to know heading into August 1st.

Right-handed hitter, did not tally a hit, but barrelled multiple balls to center field and right field in the game for flyouts. Hands stay short to the ball with an uphill path that looks to do damage at the plate. A name-to-know in the sophomore class.
