The left-handed hitter took one of the better rounds of BP on the day with quick hands and a flatter path through the zone, showing an athletic and handsy swing with some looseness throughout, creating sneaky jump off the barrel from his 5-foot-8, 153-pound frame with a max EV of 97 mph. He also put up notable BLAST metrics with an average bat-speed of 73.3 mph and average hand-speed of 22 mph. Cotts then impressed during defense; showing some natural actions and feel for playing on the infield. He gets around the ball to get his momentum moving toward first, utilizing a two-hand funnel into his body, and showing rangy actions as well.
