Yandel Santos, Grand Oaks (TX), 2027 Positional Profile: C/2B RHH/C…will add strength in future. Receives well. Pop times will continue to improve with quickness to release developed and raw arm strength increasing. Upside to bat/power combo with adjustments. Solid tools to watch develop. Body: 5-10, 150-pounds. Good build/frame to add needed strength in future. Projects to have to good with maturity and strength. Hit: RHH. Wide base, short stride, lands in good position to hit. Hits into firm front side. Linear movement to back foot, would like to see land on ball of back foot that is making linear move. Overall solid swing. Nice job of using lower 1/2. Barrel/hands in good launch position. Some marginal length to swing with slight uphill path. Would like to see more direct path to hit zone with barrel, work to get on plane looking for line drive contact. 63.1 mph bat speed with 8 G's of rotational acceleration. Power: 90 max exit velocity, averaged 75.6 mph. 311' max distance. Couple of opportunities for adjustments present. Solid bat/power combo in future. Arm: RH. C-72 mph. Arm works, lacks arm speed presently. Will develop arm speed with added strength. Long toss program would also help arm speed/raw arm strength. Defense: 2.04-2.09 pop times. Receives well, feel for glove present. Nice job of blocking. Good release/exchange to throw. Nice upside behind plate. ATH: 7.59 runner in the 60. 1.82 and 4.20 in the 10 and 30 yard splits. Runs hard, hips back.

Yandel Santos, Grand Oaks (TX), 2027 Positional Profile: C/2B 2027 Catcher showing solid tools/ability to develop. Lot to like with what he shows now. Will improve with strength and adjustments. Body: 5-9, 166-pounds. Solid build/frame with ability to gain strength. Good frame/build for catcher. Hit: RHH. Upright stance with feet starting just wider than shoulders. Knee lift stride about 6 inches. Gets into solid position to hit. Rotational backside, good job of using lower 1/2 in swing. Speed of hips in swing will improve with strength improving lower 1/2 acceleration improving ability to impact baseball. Hands start in good position with barrel wrapped to start creating length. Scoop swing with pull approach. Can shorten path, improve path resulting in more line drive contact. 62.6 mph bat speed with 6 G's of rotational acceleration.
