Bentley Blinka 3B / OF / Victoria East, TX / 2026

From 6/17/25:
"Positional Profile: 3B/OF RHH/INF/OF with good build to add strength. Defensively versatility present. Will develop into solid infielder. Moves well in OF. Project solid bat/power combo in future with hit approach and swing opportunities for changes. Like the athlete and raw tools.
Body: 6-2, 189-pounds. Good build/Frame. Will add more strength with maturity. Strong physical projections.
Hit: RHH. Short stride with no load into back leg. Lands in good position to hit. Rotational back foot, gets stuck in swing, doesn't drive forward. Work get back foot fully rotated, drive foot forward along with right hip and lower. Hit into firm front side with upright posture. Right shoulder tilt present at contact. Length to swing. Hands start in good position, barrel wrap start. Work to get barrel not wrapped in better launch position. Slight uphill path created with right shoulder tilt, work to keep barrel above hands or soften shoulder tilt to get more on plane.
Power: 101 max exit velocity, averaged 88.0 mph. 296' max distance. Project solid bat/power combo in future with adjustments to hit approach and swing. Definite upside with changes.
Arm: RH. INF-80 mph. OF-85 mph. OF...full circle arm path. Works well. Ability to throw on line. INF…ability to throw from all angles. Recommend long toss program to increase arm speed and raw arm strength.
Defense: OF…Moves well to ball. Feet are slow setting to throw. Good job keeping momentum forward through the throw. INF…Feet show okay quickness with 1st step. Nice job getting to baseball to field. Work to keep feet moving thru baseball in fielding process. Fields ball deep, work to get hands out front. Stands to throw, stay low/athletic when making throw. Receives well, quiet behind plate. Quickness to release over raw arm strength presently, raw arm strength will improve. Projection bat/power with adjustments. Developing catcher, receives well with other tools to develop.
Body: 5-11, 170-pounds. Nice build/frame to add strength. Avg width to shoulders and back. Good lower.
Hit: RHH. Back foot gets stuck in rotation, work to get back foot fully turned and on time. Shows nice use of lower 1/2 in swing, will firm with getting foot turned. Hits into firm front leg. Stays into ground with stride foot, falling back into heel, stay into ground with foot thru completion of swing. Front shoulder pulls off, split body in 1/2, think about applying all force from back 1/2 of body. Front 1/2 for stability, with front 1/2 of body, less is more. Length to swing caused from barrel tip over top of head to start swing. Work to get barrel more behind head allowing for more direct path to hit zone with hands and barrel. Lacks extension to swing due to front shoulder pulling off. Solid bat/hand speed present. 75.7 mph bat speed with 18 G's of rotational acceleration.
Power: 102 max exit velocity, averaged 85.3 mph. 348' max distance. Projection bat/power combo in future with adjustments to hit approach and swing. Contact consistency and impact will firm with changes.
Arm: RH. C-75 mph. Quickness to release over raw arm strength. The shorter the arm path, the better the throws.

Hit: RHH. Lands slightly closed after stride, Rotational back foot showing linear movement forward. Recommend working to drive foot more directionally towards mound, not bad now, can be firmed. Stay into ground with stride foot, rolls onto heel killing lower 1/2 use. Once onto heel, balance is lost. Right shoulder tilt creates uphill swing path, work to level shoulders some to lessen uphill path. Barrel/hands in good launch position. Swing works around body, creating length. Working around body, also causes swing to get out of zone early, no extension present to swing. Work to take knob/barrel on direct path to zone, think top hand working along the inside line of batters box. 68.4 mph bat speed with 11 G's of rotational acceleration.
Power: 95 max exit velocity, averaged 84.3 mph. 333' max distance. Project solid bat/power combo in future with adjustments to hit approach and swing. Changes will result in improved contact consistency and ability to impact baseball.
Arm: RH. C-77 mph. INF-83 mph. Arm works okay, lacks arm speed. Below avg raw HS arm strength. Recommend long toss program to increase arm speed and raw arm strength. Improving footwork playing thru baseball will also help with arm strength.
Defense: 1.85-1.94 pop times. Feet work fine getting body to baseball to field, dead feet fielding, work to play thru baseball with feet. Glove tap present, hands are late. Eliminate glove tap, field baseball out front. C...Okay glove excahnge, keep glove from dropping too low to help facilitate a better exchange. Steady footwork, throws off a firm front side.

Stride foot rotates open and onto heel hindering balance. Stay into ground with stride, hit from ground up. Body lays back at contact, work to get posture upright with swing. Laying back of body contributes some to uphill path of barrel. Barrel/hands in nice position to launch. Length to swing created with barrel work down and around with uphill path. Work to develop ability to take more direct path with hands/barrel to zone looking to get on plane for line drive contact. Bat/hand speed should increase with added strength. 65.5 mph bat speed with 14 G's of rotational acceleration.

From 5/21/25:
"I saw Buda Johnson play 2 games last week and one thing that stood out is that Oaks can really hit. Body: 6-0, 192-pounds. Good build/frame to add strength in future. Width to shoulders and back. Good lower.
Hit: RHH. Rotational back foot, works well. Back foot slides slightly away from plate, not engaging lower 1/2 completely, work to get back foot driving towards mound to get lower 1/2 fully involved. Hits into firm front leg and stride foot with good posture at contact. Barrel/hands in good launch position, takes solid path to hit zone with both. Front shoulder opens early, work to keep front shoulder closed. With swing, think less is more with front shoulder/front 1/2 of body. More is better with back 1/2 of body. This will help keep front shoulder closed. 69 mph bat speed with 17 G's of rotational acceleration.
Power: 95 max exit velocity, averaged 86.9 mph. 342' max distance. Project solid bat/power combo with upside to power/impact. Adjustment opportunities present for hit approach and swing. Solid tools to work with at plate.
Arm: RH. C-77 mph. Gets on side of baseball hindering carry to throws and accuracy, tail present.
Defense: 2.01-2.09 pop times. Soft hand and quick feet. Stays low and work through on one knee. Can get a little tall in setup when on both feet.
ATH: 7.38 runner in the 60. 1.66 and 4.04 in the 10 and 30 yard splits. Nice start, hard runner. Good stride length, head back when running, develop lean forward with head when running. Chance to increase some. 20.90 max vertical.
Delivery: Side rock step with medium leg lift. Front side can be more consistent staying closed. Finishes into front leg.
Arm Action: RH. Short arm action. H3/4 slot with some arm speed.
FB: T86, 82-85 mph. Shows some arm speed. Some sink when down in zone. Command will improve with front side adjustments. T2292, 2153 average rpm.
CB: 73-73 mph. Opportunity to improve movement and rotation with front side adjustments. Good speed differential. T1767, 1759 average rpm.
CH: 74-79 mph. Some fade when down. Will improve with front side adjustments. T1847, 1732 average rpm.
CUT: 80-80 mph. Developing pitch."

Hit: RHH. Open stance, legs slightly past shoulder width apart. Fires lower half well. Has linear movement in back foot, work on the direction of that foot moving towards the pitcher instead of moving towards third base. Hits into firm front side. Knee lift to stride.
