On Saturday, September 19th, the PB Texas staff traveled to Weatherford College in Weatherford, TX, to host the Texas State Games: Upperclass, an invite-only event for the class of 2026 and 2027.

More than 100 players made their way to Weatherford College this past weekend and participated in a pro-style workout as well as gameplay, gathering unrivaled access to data through our state-of-the-art tech partners, while receiving in-depth scouting analysis from our Prep Baseball Texas staff.

Today, we take a look at the scouting reports on every infielder in attendance as well as rank the top 7 middle infielders and top 7 corner infielders from the event.

TOP MIDDLE INFIELD PROSPECTS

1. Jayden Moeller, Keller (TX), 2027 | Most Valuable Player
Positional Profile: SS/3B RHH/INF will add increased strength in future. BA runner, speed has increased consistently over past year, will continue to improve, chance he develops into avg runner. Actions present on defense, makes plays, instincts present with reads off bat. Showed ability to make plays to both left and right on the move. Versatility on infield present. Throws show carry now. Solid bat/power combo, opportunities for minor adjustments to both hit approach and swing. Shows solid contact both in BP and in games. Keeps improving.
Body: 5-11, 170 pounds. Good build/frame to add strength in future. Avg width to shoulders and back. Good lower.
Hit: RHH. Short stride, rotational back foot, does a solid job getting back foot turned and on time. Can drive lower 1/2 bit more forward looking to get lower 1/2 fully engaged. Hits into firm front leg, stride foot stays into ground, nice job of hitting from ground up. Solid posture at point of contact, can drive both hips forward more to maximize lower. Hands drop with stride, bottom hand pushes back causing minor barrel tip over head, causing some length to swing. Work to keep barrel little more behind head at launch. Swing works getting to zone, on plane showing solid contact. Shows bat speed developing. 68.5 mph bat speed with 10g of rotational acceleration.
Power: 97 mph max exit velocity (91.7 avg.); 358-foot max batted distance. Solid bat/power combo in future. Shows solid contact in BP and game play. Couple of minor adjustment opportunities present to firm both hit approach and swing. Bat speed has improved in past year and will continue to improve in future.
Arm: RH. INF - 89 mph. Arm works well, shows ability to make throws from all angles when making plays on the move. Carry to throws present.
Defense: Moves well to baseball, good job of breaking and playing thru baseball. Fields baseball deep, glove flip present. Work to eliminate glove flip.
Athletic Testing: 7.23 runner in the 60-yard dash; 22.70-inch max vertical jump. Hard runner, avg length stride. Upright runner, work to develop slight lean forward with head and shoulders when running. Hoping speed increases some in future.
