Kane is looking a lot more physical than the last time I saw him in the fall, he displayed a lot of quick actions during the pregame I/O. Kane hit in the leadoff spot but didn’t really do much as he went 0-3 on the day but did manage to lace a line drive that was caught by the LF. Where I was most impressed with Kane was his leadership on the field when he was playing shortstop and his ability to move the defense and talk with his infielders. There wasn’t a lot of hitting going on in the whole game but for the pitching, the Mararuders threw a plethora of quality arms at the Bells. He actually ended up getting the win for the Marauders as he came in the last inning and threw up a zero. The velocity was consistently sitting 91-92 MPH in his outing, the FB didn’t seem to be straight at all. The SL was at 75-75 MPH, the inning went by very quick, Kane was moving fast on the mound and wasn’t there to mess around. The athletic ‘26 has definitely made some strides since the summer time and it's looking quite promising.
Sammy Kane, JESUIT HIGH SCHOOL (CA), 2026 Louisiana State
Positional Profile: SS/RHP
Body: 6-1, 184-pounds. Wiry athletic frame with room to continue adding strength
Delivery: Good tempo down the mound. Stays online with front side and a small sink into his lower 1/2 to get to his arm slot before landing at front foot strike. Delivery syncs well with quickness in his hips while finishing over his front leg. Repeats well with body control.
Arm Action: RH. Low 3/4 slot with clean arm path through delivery featuring present arm speed with looseness. Hides ball well staying behind his body in back swing with good finish.
FB: T89, 87-88 mph. Features arm side run with life through the zone that bores in on RH hitters hands T2196, 2094 average rpm.
SL: 73-79 mph. sweeping action to the break with ability to play east to west off his FB T2141, 2037 average rpm.
CH: 77-80 mph. Gives him another east west option with good arm speed and flashes potential T2013, 1874 average rpm.
ATH: 7.22 runner in the 60. 1.81 and 4.05 in the 10 and 30 yard splits. Stays online well during running motion with some quickness to his strides. 28.10 max vertical.

Positional Profile: SS/RHP
Body: 6-1, 184-pounds. Wiry athletic frame with room to continue adding strength
Hit: RHH. Taller even stance with small knee bend and minimal hip hinge with hands set just above shoulder height over his rear shoulder with higher back elbow and barrel tipped forward behind his head. Medium leg lift with a forward move into foot strike while hands push back with barrel tipping up into the launch position. Weight transfers in a more linear fashion with quickness in the bat path while staying direct with his barrel to generate leverage to the middle/pull side of the field.
Power: 100 max exit velocity, averaged 86.4 mph. 361' max distance. Strength through contact with ability to drive the baseball with authority to the pull side of the field. Some inconsistency in elevating the ball, but raw power is present.
Arm: RH. INF-87 mph. Slightly longer arm action with present arm speed that shows strength, but inconsistency in the path leads to accuracy issues at times.
Defense: Plays with body control and sure hands while demonstrating rhythm in his footwork. Moves well laterally to both sides with 2 hand action looking slighlty more comfortable, but feel for 1 hand. Moves well downhill with ability to play on the run.
ATH: 7.22 runner in the 60. 1.81 and 4.05 in the 10 and 30 yard splits. Stays online well during running motion with some quickness to his strides. 28.10 max vertical.
