Sacramento, CALIF. - The 2025 Prep Baseball NorCal ProCase took place this past Saturday at Cosumnes River College.
Over 30+ players took to the field in a showcase setting with their eyes set on earning an invitation to the Future Games from which Team NorCal will be selected for the prestigious Prep Baseball Future Games that will take place in July at the beautiful LakePoint Sports Complex in Emerson, Georgia just north of Atlanta.
This crop of of players is some of the best talent NorCal has to offer bringing guys in as far as the Central Valley. Players were put through a pro-style workout that included a sixty-yard laser timed sprint, a defensive workout, batting practice, and finishing with gameplay.
Below are the guys who had standout days.
*PLAYERS LISTED IN NO PARTICULAR ORDER

Davis Wilson RHP / SS / Clovis North, CA / 2027Wilson makes his way up to NorCal from the valley, out of Clovis North High School, Wilson stands at 6 '1 178lbs with more room to grow in his athletic frame. Wilson is the number two ranked right handed pitcher in the state and a top 10 in the whole class of 2027. Just talking to him on the side, he’s a great kid, talks with a lot of confidence, but the best part is he actually has a personality. I’ve only had the chance to see Wilson throw once this season and that was about two months ago. All eyes were locked in on Wilson as he was set up during his warm up pitches, five batters later Wilson ended up with five strikeouts. The kid can flat out pitch and his knowledge of how to pitch is even more impressive. Wilson had made a comment about how much better his Cutter has gotten since the season and he wasn’t lying one bit. It almost looks like a slider at times but when Wilson puts a little extra on it, the hard/late action creates a lot of swing and miss from the hitters. The velocity on the SL/CT was between 84-86 mph, with the spin just north of 2,000 RPM. Wilson possesses a heavy fastball with tons of movement on and was getting a ton of swing and miss when he was mixing in the breaking balls. The heater was working between 90.2-91.5 mph with a max spin rate of 2189 rpm. Wilson has a max IVB of 18.7 with an average of 16.3, which shows why his fastball is firm and it gets on hitters quicker than they think. Wilson has electric stuff and will only continue to grow and get better. Wilson mixed in his curveball sitting in the range of 76-80 mph with a max spin rate of 2,056 rpm. It’s a real four pitch mix with a chance to develop a fifth pitch as he matures. I'm a huge fan of the fastball and cutter, Wilson has got a shot to be a real high quality arm in the whole country. |

Mariano Gonzalez LHP / OF / Vanden , CA / 2027Gonzalez is another highly touted arm in the 2027 class, but what separates him from a lot of the other arms up here is that he is left handed. Gonzalez comes in as the 5th ranked LHP in all of California, along with a top 25 ranking for his class for all of the lefties. Standing at 6’0 185 lbs, Gonzalez is a very strong kid, with a great lower half to go along with a great arm. Having seen Gonzalez earlier in the high school season, it was tough to gauge his outing because the conditions weren’t the best and there was a ton of wind. Today was a different story, he wasted no time making his name known against a group of very talented hitters. Gonzalez actually got the start in the ProCase and the fastball was the first thing that everyone took notice of. The velocity has taken a leap since the Pre Season All-State that happened in late January, Gonzalez’ fastball was sitting between 91-92 mph T93, with an average IVB of 15 and max spin rate of 2512 rpm on the fastball. It comes out heavy and the mechanics have been cleaned up to where Gonzalez is really starting to develop into a pitcher instead of just a thrower. The curveball is a really good second pitch, when he throws it over the plate it's a strike, and then he can mix one in the dirt for a chase pitch. Gonzalez has put a lot of work on his changeup, with a max spin rate of 1,657 rpm. Hitters didn’t seem to touch the changeup or any of his pitches to say the least. Gonzalez is trending in an upward direction and has a big summer ahead of him. |

Logan Georges RHP / Clovis, CA / 2026Logan Georges, a 6’5, 210-pound right-handed pitcher from Clovis High School (CA), is a top-tier prospect in the class of 2026, committed to TCU. Possessing a physically imposing frame with room for further development, Georges projects as a high-upside arm with professional potential. Observed in a recent outing, he demonstrated advanced pitchability and a commanding presence on the mound. Georges’ fastball sits 90.7-93.3 mph, touching 93.5 mph, with exceptional life driven by an average spin rate of 2,595 rpm. The pitch’s steep angle, amplified by his height, generates consistent swing-and-miss outcomes, particularly when elevated. His changeup, registering 83.1-83.2 mph with a max spin rate of 1,787 rpm, shows deceptive arm speed and late fade, effectively neutralizing opposite-handed hitters. The slider, a standout offering at 78.4-79.9 mph with 2,500 rpm of spin, features sharp, late break, producing frequent whiffs and weak contact. His three-pitch arsenal is complemented by a repeatable delivery and advanced feel for sequencing, rare for his age. Georges’ frame, athleticism, and clean arm action suggest potential for increased velocity as he matures. Already a standout in a competitive region, he projects as a frontline starter with the tools to dominate at the collegiate level and beyond. Georges is a high-priority follow for scouts seeking impact arms in the 2026 class. |

Akanni Owodunni C / 3B / Berkeley, CA / 2026This was my first time getting to see Owodunni in person after not being able to make it out to Berkeley High School this season. He's been on the radar for a bit but after this weekend, I wouldn’t be surprised if he starts to get a little more notice than usual. Owodunni is a very physical kid who stands at 6’2 210 lbs, walking in his physicality. During the 60 YD Dash of the workout, Owodunni ran a 6.9 with a max speed of 19.7 mph, along with a vertical jump score of 26.3 inches. Owodunni’s hitting was very impressive during the BP park of the workout, he had a max exit velocity of 102.5 mph and an average velocity of 91.2 mph. A lot of his balls were hit to the big part of the field, his barrel stays through the zone for a long time causing him to get a ton of hits. Lots of backspin comes with his swing, his BP was very fun to watch. On the defensive side Owodunni has a strong arm behind the plate along with accuracy around the bag. His top velocity behind the dish was at 80 mph with pop times between 1.94 and 2.03. Owodunni continued to impress everyone during the game, when he secured two hits off of some really talented arms. One of his hits was a hanging curveball that was mashed over the left center field fence for a home run, there was not much hitting going on early since the arms were all very quality. Owodunni has speed, can defend, and he comes with a bat. I can see why USD is so high on him, plus he’s a great kid to chat it up with. |

Ayden Deome 3B / SS / West Park , CA / 2026Deome is a very familiar face who I've gotten to monitor a good amount this season at West Park High School. Deome has been recently playing with the Lincoln Potters Collegiate summer ball team and has been lighting up the summer circuit coming off of an amazing junior campaign. Deome is really turning into the complete package, he’s proved he can stick on the left side of the infield and this year he stuck at shortstop with no problems. Deome is a bat that you're going to hear about for a while, he’s got such a mature approach and he's finally learning how to pull the ball with backspin. During the 60’s in the workout Deome posted a 6.9 which was a personal best since his last time running in early January. Weighing in at 6 '2 200lbs Deome has a ton of physicality to work with and grow into, his grip strength was 149 on his right and 150 on his left, almost doubling his previous scores from the NC-PSAS. Deome had a max EV of 98.6 mph and an average EV of 90.4 mph, with a max distance of 371 ft. All of his numbers from January have gone up a lot and it's only been half of a year, so expect him to do some damage around the summer circuit. In the gameplay, Deome had two hits showing off his bat to ball skills and finding barrels off of some good pitching. His swing is compact yet explosive, with quick hands and a disciplined approach that sprays hard contact to all fields. As he matures, Deome projects to develop above-average power, making him a potential middle-of-the-order threat. Deome’s makeup stands out; he's a gamer who elevates in high-pressure situations. |

Sammy Kane SS / RHP / Jesuit High School, CA / 2026Sammy Kane was one of the two-ways that participated in the NorCal ProCase. Kane is an LSU recruit and had a great season for Jesuit High School at the plate and on the mound. Kane stands at 5’10 175 lbs and has a ton of athleticism. DUring the defensive workout, he showed smooth actions in the infield, he has a three quarter arm slot but has the ability to whip it across the infield with ease. Kane had the highest infield velocity of the event at 91 mph. Kane ran a 7.22 60 YD dash but his actions on the field are a lot quicker than the 60 time. Kane had a very impressive and consistent BP as he maxed out at an EV of 100.2 mph along with an average EV of 93 mph. His offense showed up in the game as he stretched out a triple he hit into the gap, his swing plays and it may look a little unconventional but it works. On the mound, Kane was sitting between 88-91 mph topping out at 92.3 mph. His three quarter slot makes it tough for hitters to see, Kane doesn't throw anything straight, his max spin rate on his fastball was 2203 rpm. Kane mixes in a SL/CH with the slider sitting between 74-78 mph with a max spin rate of 2256. Curious to see what Kane is going to do at the next level, I’m sure the Tigers will utilize his talents effectively. |
