ProCase - NorCal: Positional Analysis

On May 31st, the Prep Baseball California team hosted the NorCal ProCase at Cosumnes River College in Sacramento, Cal. This was an invite-only event for high school classes (2026-27), and gave our staff an ample look at the area's top prospects.

18 players made their way to Cosumnes River College and participated in a pro-style workout, gathering unrivaled access to data through our state-of-the-art tech partners, as well as in-depth scouting analysis from our Prep Baseball California staff.

Today, we will be looking at all of the positional scouting reports, with a ranking from the event:

POSITIONAL REPORTS

1. Akanni Owodunni, Berkeley (CA), 2026 San Diego
Positional Profile: C/3B
Body: 6-2, 210-pounds.
Hit: RHH. Narrow stance, hands are out front of chest, smooth load into swing Strong finish, barreled everything, big time power.
Power: 102 mph max exit velocity (91.2 avg.); 381-foot max batted distance.
Arm: RH. C - 80 mph. All throws on the bag, throws through the target
Defense: 1.94-2.03 pop time range; Plus defender, above average arm, ball has carry.
Athletic Testing: 6.91 runner in the 60-yard dash; 26.30-inch max vertical jump. Above average runner for a catcher, very impressive
