Uncommitted. Fontenot looked impressive on both sides of the diamond on Monday night. On the mound, he filled up the zone with a fastball and a sharp slider. The FB was 87–89 with late life and good ride in the zone, generating multiple whiffs. The SL was a really good secondary pitch, generating chases out of the zone in plus counts, with sharp east-to-west movement from the same arm slot as the FB. He is a big mover down the mound with good arm action and the ability to maintain velocity. At the plate, he looks to do damage to the pull side early in the count. He uses a slight leg kick with good balance in the lower half and shows a heavy barrel throughout the zone. He does a good job not chasing and hunts pitches in the zone. Shows clear two-way potential with the ability to impact the game on both sides.

Uncommitted. It was an impressive first look at the Cherokee Bluff two-way since Future Games back in July. Ultra-physical in the box at 6-foot-2, 227-pounds with loads of strength throughout. Fontenot was absolutely dialed in at the plate Sunday afternoon with a 4-hit performance and barrels all 90 + off the bat. Great barrel length in-zone stands out backed by huge bat speed and leverage through the zone. Ability to generate carry to all-fields with authority. Fontenot would also hop on the mound and flash a live arm in a brief look. Fastball lived 90-91 (T92 MPH) with life and arm-side run. Slider created depth at 76-77. Present strength throughout and creates easy drive down the mound. Fontenot always performs and is poised for an even bigger junior year after an outlandish sophomore campaign with the Bears.
Uncommitted. First glances from the mound on Saturday morning were highly impressive as the FB was working early, ran it up to 86 and sat around 84-81 catching whiff after whiff, with a 2 sm that had arm-side run (~1819 rpm), and a heavy 4 sm (~2290 rpm). SL thrown sporadically, slurve shape at 2210 rpm and in the low 70’s. CV thrown during warm-ups, tighter spin at 2388 rpm in the upper 60’s, it will be a quality pitch as the arm/wrist strength develops. Finished the morning: 4.0 IP // 0 Hits // 7K’s // 0 ER // 2 BB // 61 Pitches. Performed at the plate as well, went 2-for-3 with a single and a double, both 90+ exit velocity. Shows advanced feel for the barrel, and displays a strong, present, and physical 6-foot-2, 198-pound frame. Two-sport guy as he plays LB, QB, and TE on Friday nights in the fall. A high follow for the rest of summer and into his sophomore campaign.
