2026 MLB Draft Board: Top-200, May Update

By Prep Baseball Draft HQ

The college regular season is winding down and high school playoffs are underway in warm-weather states, while cold-weather states are naturally seeing prospects spring up the draft board as temperatures rise too. Here's our latest look at the combined top-200 rankings delivered by our Draft HQ team: the Prep Baseball 2026 Draft Board, Version 4.0.

FROM THE HIP

Notes on the rising high school prospects inside this most recent update from Prep Baseball VP of Scouting, Shooter Hunt:

+ LHP Brody Bumila (Bishop Feehan HS, MA; Texas) has asserted himself as a slam-dunk first-round talent. The 6-foot-9 southpaw has routinely touched triple-digits throughout a cool, damp spring in New England, and he carries advanced feel for a changeup with a developing breaking ball. His unicorn profile is ultra-valuable, but the lack of a summer on the national circuit creates some uncertainty as to where in the first round he ultimately lands.

+ RHP Blake Bryant (Citizens Christian, GA; Clemson) refuses to slow down, and the breakout summer performances have been matched throughout the spring. What has elevated his stock into strong first round potential is the fact that there still appears to be much more ceiling for a potential frontline arm who comes equipped with multiple weapons in an exciting arsenal.

+ SS Taj Marchand (James Island HS, SC; Ole Miss) took the helium from last summer, right into the Super 60 in February, and has catapulted in the spring. The 6-foot-2, 200-pound right-handed hitter is slashing .518/.606/1.676 with the uptick in power that was seen in Chicago showing itself in gameplay with 12 home runs. One of the youngest prospects in the class, Marchand will hardly be 18-years-old on draft day, and he continues to showcase ever more ceiling.

+ OF Andruw Giles (Basic Academy HS, NV; Oregon) saw his season cut short because of an ineligible player that disqualified his Basic High squad from postseason play. However, the left-handed hitter, whose strong bat-to-ball abilities and power upside, were on display all spring, and have reinforced the upside that he holds as one of the better pure hitters in the class.

(Andruw Giles; 3/18/26)

+ LHP Bo Holloway (Christ Presbyterian, TN; Vanderbilt) might be the most intriguing arm in the class as a dynamic mover with a triple-digit fastball in an athletic, 6-foot-5, 205-frame. The semi-lack of polish might actually serve to excite clubs as to his nearly unmatched upside. A unicorn fastball with developing secondary, it is hard to find prospects with his potential impact.

(Bo Holloway; 4/28/26)

+ SS Dylan Bowen (Hanover Central HS, IN; Oklahoma State) is one of the buzzier names of the mid-spring in the Midwest. A consummate performer who has always risen above the right/right, older profile (age-19.5 at draft), Bowen has stacked a plethora of big days thanks to a compact right-handed stroke that delivers strong contact to all fields. Renowned for his defensive work on the circuit since entering high school, the 6.60-runner with a plus-arm plays the game with an incessant motor while also carrying a chip on his shoulder and general toughness that is intriguing.

(Dylan Bowen; 4/1/26)

+ SS Jace Mataczynski (Hudson HS, WI; Auburn) put his alluring athleticism on display at the Super 60 back in February, but the post basketball season performances of the spring have driven even greater buzz in the scouting community. The tooled-up, 6-foot-4, 195-pound shortstop has delivered power-driven performances at the plate as the raw tools have quickly polished in presenting an eager Day One pick.

(Jace Mataczynski; 4/18/26)

+ Bat-to-ball darlings, INF/OF Jet Berry (Queen Creek HS, AZ; Arizona State) and OF Jon Mora (Somerset Academy, FL; Miami), are two undersized prospects that fit the mold of highly valued draftees that have been taken early in recent years. Both have enjoyed strong springs, and could situate into mid-Day One standing, especially with clubs that have prioritized their tools and profiles.

(Jet Berry; 3/17/26)
