National Player of the Week: 3/10 to 3/16

By Andy Sroka
Managing Editor, Scouting

Today, we’re announcing our third National Player of the Week of the 2025 campaign as just about the entire country is finally playing its high school ball now.

The following players were submitted by their coaches to our state directors and they went on to earn the Player or Pitcher of the Week award in those states. From there, we sifted through the country’s POTWs and selected the top performer among them, singling them out as the sole National Player of the Week. If you’re a coach interested in submitting a nomination this season but have not yet received that form so far this spring, visit our staff directory to find the contact information for the state director overseeing your state’s season coverage.

PREVIOUS WINNERS

Our staff took player stat lines from the week of March 10 to 16 into account when determining these awards.

🏆 NATIONAL POTW

Fleming Hall SS / RHP / Trinity Presbyterian, AL / 2025

“Hall has been named the Mizuno Player of the Week in Alabama after an exceptional stretch at the plate, going 10-for-14 (.714) with five doubles, a triple, two home runs, 12 RBIs, six runs scored, and two stolen bases. An Auburn recruit and a top-10 prospect in Alabama’s 2025 class, Hall’s standout performance helped lead Trinity Presbyterian to a 4-0 record and propel them back into the Top-10 Polls in Class 4A this week.”

STATE PLAYERS OF THE WEEK

Alabama

+ Tyler Pierce, RHP/SS (Boaz HS, 2025) | West Alabama (football):
“Pierce has been named the Mizuno Pitcher of the Week in Alabama after an incredible performance on the mound, striking out 10 over five innings without allowing a hit or a walk in a perfect game. A talented multi-sport athlete committed to West Alabama for football, Pierce has been on a dominant stretch, following up a previous week where he went eight innings, earning a complete-game win while giving up just one hit, no earned runs, and two walks with 16 strikeouts.”

David Sharp, Deep South Supervisor

California

+ Josh Jannicelli, RHP (Cardinal Newman HS, 2025) | UC Santa Barbara:
“Janniceli was lights out against the No. 3 team in the state, Valley Christian, helping lead Cardinal Newman to the road upset win. The UCSB commit tossed a complete-game two-hitter as the Cardinals grinded out a 1-0 win in which Jannicelli finished with 10 strikeouts with two walks on 94 pitches and had a 68% strike rate in the game. Janniceli gave up lead-off singles in both the sixth and seventh innings but the runners stranded at first and second base respectively.

For the season, Janniceli has allowed just six hits, one earned run, five walks, and has amassed 25 strikeouts in just 14.2 innings pitched. He has a record of 2-2 with a 0.48 ERA so far.”

+ Trey Morris, LHP/1B (Washington Union HS, 2025) | Oregon State:
“Morris, an Oregon State signee, had a huge offensive week that culminated in earning tournament MVP honors thanks to his two-way performances.

For the week Morris was 5-for-7, with two doubles, two home runs, nine RBI, while also scoring five runs, and drawing three walks. Both home runs gave Washington Union the lead in games. On top of that, he threw five innings allowing just one hit and striking out 14 batters in the championship game.

For the season Morris is hitting an even .500 with four doubles, three home runs and 14 RBI. He also has eight walks against just two strikeouts in eight games thus far. On the pitching side, he’s 2-0 with 0.58 ERA with zero walks and 34 strikeouts, one earned run and just two hits allowed in 12 innings pitched. ”

Les Lukach, California State Director

(6/2/24)

Colorado

+ Ethan Zufall, RHP (Broomfield HS, 2025) | BYU:
“Zufall – a 2023 Future Games member and a BYU commit – takes the Pitcher of the Week honors for Colorado's opening week of play. The No. 6-ranked right-hander in the state's 2025 class racked up 13 strikeouts in just five innings against Douglas County last week, while also only allowing one hit, one walk, and no earned runs. Zufall was dominant in this one and comes with a fastball in the 90s along with some swing and miss off-speed. The athletic and strong frame on Zufall continues to develop and he is certainly one to watch closely in spring 2025.”

+ Colin Metz, OF (Chatfield HS, 2025) | Dodge City JC:
“Metz is showing off some early power this season thanks to already belting four(!) home runs over his first four games. The Chatfield senior and Dodge City commit went 9-for-15 last week and also produced three doubles to go with his four homers. Metz went 3-for-4 with a homer in the Chargers' big win over a top-ranked Legend program and then followed it up with back-to-back 3-for-4 days against Heritage and Eaglecrest. Metz ended up with a three-homer day against Eaglecrest to cap off the Chargers 4-0 week, beating Eaglecrest 11-10 in a close one on the road.”

Caleb Dameron, Colorado Assistant Director

Florida

+ Jace Riggan, RHP/SS (North Florida Christian HS, 2027) | Uncommitted:
“Sophomore right-handed pitcher Riggan dominated on the mound, throwing five innings of one-hit ball without surrendering a run or issuing a walk, and racking up an impressive 13 strikeouts.”

+ Eddie Marshall, C (Cardinal Gibbons HS, 2025) | Samford:
“Marshall, a senior catcher, and Samford commit, had an outstanding week at the plate, going 6-for-9 with five RBIs and showcasing his power by blasting three home runs, a double, and a triple, while crossing the plate five times.”

Rocco Iervasi, Florida Managing Director

+ Coleman Borthwick, 3B/RHP (South Walton HS, 2026) | Auburn:
“In the most electric high school environment of the year, the Prep Baseball All-American delivered. Up to 97 on the mound with a mid-80s slider and changeup. Borthwick would come through with a go-ahead grand slam later to give South Walton the win over top-5 nationally ranked IMG Academy.”

Ian Smith, Georgia Assistant Scouting Director

(All-American Game; 9/12/24)

Georgia

+ Michael Strickland, RHP (Coffee County HS, 2025) | Mercer:
“Strickland came up clutch for Coffee County in a huge regional matchup for the Trojans against Thomas County Central. He limited TCC to just three hits in seven shutout innings with 14 punch-outs, securing a huge win for the program in the process.”

+ Cohen Fletcher, OF (Heritage HS, 2027) | Uncommitted:
“Cohen, a top-250-ranked sophomore in the state, helped Heritage secure a series sweep of Ridgeland while hitting clean-up for the Generals. All in all, Cohen finished last week 8-for-10 with two doubles, three triples, and a home run that helped produce six RBIs.”

Hudson Graham, Georgia State Director

(11/3/24)

Idaho

+ Hudson Reece, RHP (Rocky Mountain HS, 2025) | Uncommitted:
“Reece has put together an incredible first start of the year. Rocky Mountain took on Middleton at home, and Hudson got the call on the mound. This turned out to be an impressive display of competitiveness, command, and efficiency from Hudson. In the premier match up Hudson threw 81 pitches, striking out four Middleton hitters, walking just one, and giving up no runs in the 1-0 victory over the Vikings.”

+ Easton Vivier, OF (Mountain Home HS, 2026) | Uncommitted:
“Vivier came into the year with his bat hot and ready to go. Starting this year off going 9-for-15 at the plate with multiple extra-base hits, consisting of three doubles, a triple, and a home run.

Three of those extra-bases came in his astounding performance against Kimberly where Vivier hit for the cycle, the impressive feat propelled the Tigers to a 21-7 victory. Vivier's power is impressive, but at the same time he has shown his discipline while only striking out once in his first 4 games last week.”

Cam Black-Araujo, West Coast Content Manager

Louisiana

+ Easton Sanders, 1B/RHP (Glenbrook HS, 2025) | Louisiana Tech:
“The Louisiana Tech recruit has been a two-way star for the Apaches ever since he stepped foot on campus as a freshman, and he had one of his best showings last week in Glenbrook's two games. At the plate, Sanders went 4-for-6 (.667) with two home runs, three runs batted in, and two runs scored in the Apaches two wins last week. He also turned in a stellar start on the mound last Friday against West Ouachita. Sanders earned the win after tossing seven innings giving up two earned runs on four hits with two walks and fourteen strikeouts.”

+ Cole Navarro, RHP (Brother Martin HS, 2025) | New Orleans:
“Last week, the UNO recruit accomplished a feat that hasn't been done at Brother Martin since 2008. Navarro got the start against St. Paul's last Tuesday and tossed a complete game no-hitter with only one walk and five strikeouts to lead the Crusaders to the 4-0 win over the Wolves. So far this season, he's compiled a 4-1 record and 1.06 ERA and has helped Brother Martin win their last seven straight to improve their season record to 14-5.”

Alex Armand, Louisiana State Director

(9/28/24)

Mississippi

+ Sawyer Bates, 1B/LHP (Canton Academy HS, 2025) | East Central JC:
“Bates had an outstanding week for the Panthers as he collected nine hits in 12 at-bats, including four home runs, a double, seven runs scored, and 11 RBIs.”

Matt Miller, Mississippi State Director

Nevada

+ Brady Dallimore, C (Palo Verde HS, 2025) | TCU:
“The senior continues his hot start to the 2025 spring with another big week at the plate, hitting .625 with a pair of extra-base hits, including his second home run of the year. The big week at the plate helped bump Dallimore's average up to a team leading .577 with an OBP of .667.

The future Horned Frog has seen his game continue to ascend at the plate as he leads his team in doubles (7), hits (15) and slugging percentage (1.077). One of the early season favorites for Prep Baseball Nevada Player of the Year, he is well on his way to being in that final conversation after an impressive first two weeks of the season.”

+ Keenan Dolan, RHP (Bishop Manogue HS, 2026) | South Carolina:
“The two-time Future Gamer has put together a handful of dominant performances already this spring, but none more dominant than his start against McQueen, where he earned his first career no-hitter, going seven complete innings, striking out 10 along the way. Seemingly each time out, his mix gains a bit more polish with his fastball velocity also continuing to trend as things start to warm up.

The low-effort delivery helps create the deception needed beyond the high school level and understanding how to uiltize his mechanics to get down the mound make this a present prospect that still has a ton of upside as we expect his fastball to only continue to climb over the next two years.”

Cam Black-Araujo, West Coast Content Manager

(Future Games; 7/24/24)

Oklahoma

+ Cash Williams, C (Choctaw HS, 2025) | Tennessee:
“The Tennessee commit showed the middle-of-the-order power that helped make him a Super 60 participant earlier this year. Overall, he punished opposing pitchers as he went 7-for-12 with five home runs, six runs scored, and 14 RBIs.”

Bret Schwartz, Oklahoma Scouting Director

(Super 60; 2/3/25)

South Carolina

+ Brandon Anderson, OF/LHP (Hartsville HS, 2026) | Uncommitted:
“Anderson has been productive for his high school on this young season already, especially last week. Anderson motored the Red Foxes to wins in each of its three games last week in which they scored 15 runs in every game they played. For his part, Anderson hit .875 on the week with two doubles, two homers, three walks, and he drove in eight total.”

Sammy Esposito, South Carolina State Director

Washington

+ Barrett Schnetz, OF (Yelm HS, 2025) | Uncommitted:
“Schnetz earns Washington's Hitter of the Week Honors after finishing with an impressive .833 batting average in week one action. The senior slugged a triple and two doubles in addition to drawing two walks. Schnetz also drove in four and scored four runs. The senior was most recently seen at the 2025 Pacific Northwest Preseason ID this February.”

+ AJ Welch, RHP (Monroe HS, 2026) | Uncommitted:
“Welch earns Washington's Pitcher of the Week honors from Week One, after throwing five no-hit innings during Monroe's 10-0 victory last Friday. The uncommitted arm gave up no runs, striking out eight and walking just one batter on the day. Welch is currently the No. 34-ranked player in Washington's 2026 class and was most recently seen at the Pacific Northwest Preseason All-State event this February.”

Dylan Grenz, PNW Associate Scout

(2/17/25)

Texas

+ Isaac Rios, SS (South Grand Prairie HS, 2025) | Grayson JC:
“Rios, a 2025 third baseman from South Grand Prairie and a Grayson JC commit, had a dominant Week Four at the plate. He went 5-for-7, crushing three home runs and driving in five runs. Rios showed off his power and ability to drive the baseball, and he is one to keep an eye on for the remainder of the season.”

+ Drew Emery, RHP (Stratford HS, 2026) | Uncommitted:
“Emery was lights-out in Week Four for Stratford. He threw a complete-game no-hitter, going seven innings with 13 strikeouts while allowing just one walk. Emery dominated from start to finish, overwhelming hitters with his command and solid three-pitch mix. Emery's a good uncommitted 2026 to follow.”
