Positional Profile: 1B/LHP Intriguing two-way player with upside on both sides of the ball. Power LH bat in the box. LHP that creates deception off a three-pitch mix.
Body: 6-6, 242-pounds. Large, well-proportioned frame with strength present in lower half.
Delivery: Starts with a higher hand set that quickly drops to belt level before syncing with the front leg. Employs a high leg kick with inward hip turn and some upper body coil present. Sits into the back knee, but primarily moves down the mound off the front leg with a shorter stride. Shows decent ability to block with the plant leg, though can get slightly caught behind. Works with a smooth, controlled tempo and has room to add velocity through a more refined lower half.
Arm Action: LH. Works with a full-circle arm path out of the glove, creating good depth at foot strike. Delivers from a consistent 3/4 release while hiding the ball well behind the frame to disrupt timing. Shows fluid arm action with present arm speed and minimal recoil upon release.
FB: T82, 78-81 mph. FB that pairs good ride with significant arm-side. Jumps on hitters late with the ability to miss barrels upstairs. Found success on the edges of the zone, inducing weak contact. T2282, 2112 average rpm.
SL: 71-73 mph. Tight, late-breaking SL that tunnels well off the FB plane. Fills the zone with offering, often attacking the edges of the strike zone. T2195, 2099 average rpm.
CH: 73-77 mph. High-spin, fading CH that separates late off the FB. Effective when located down or below the zone. T2327, 1897 average rpm.
ATH: 16.90 max vertical.
Positional Profile: 1B/LHP Intriguing two-way player with upside on both sides of the ball. Power LH bat in the box. LHP that creates deception off a three-pitch mix.
Body: 6-6, 242-pounds. Large, well-proportioned frame with strength present in lower half.
Hit: LHH. Sets up upright in a slightly closed stance with hands sitting behind the back shoulder and barrel resting flat above. Initiates the load by shifting weight into the back side as the hands load back and the barrel tips vertical. Uses a small leg lift for timing into a controlled stride forward, with the stride foot opening slightly as it lands. Hips fire as the back knee drives, creating good separation with the hands. Hands work short to and long through the zone on a slightly uphill path. Displays quick hands with present bat speed, using a pull-side approach that leverages a big frame and shows power to the gaps. 70 mph bat speed with 13 G's of rotational acceleration.
Power: 100 max exit velocity, averaged 85.6 mph. 391' max distance.
Arm: LH. INF-66 mph. Lengthy arm path that works a low 3/4 slot. Has the ability to tap into additional arm strength, particularly evident from the mound.
Defense: Stays tall throughout the play, showing soft hands with a clean two-handed gather. Displays short strides and direct footwork.
ATH: 16.90 max vertical.
Vizual Edge: 80.22 Edge Score
Positional Profile: 1B/LHP Physical two-way player, learning how to use strong body. Upside on both sides of the ball.
Body: 6-5, 239-pounds. Large, well-built frame with a sturdy, forceful lower half.
Delivery: Controlled, fluid delivery down the mound with a short, compact stride. Generates momentum with minimal drive from the back leg while using an inward hip turn during the leg lift to stay balanced.
Arm Action: LH. Delivers from a high three-quarter slot with a full circle arm path. Deceptive, making it difficult for hitters to pick up spin until late in the trajectory.
FB: T83, 79-81 mph. Heavy running FB that combines ride with strong arm-side movement. Pitched to contact, inducing ground balls and weak contact. Found success down in the zone and to the arm-side edge. T2275, 2118 average rpm.
SL: 72-75 mph. Short, biting SL with mild sweep and moderate vertical drop. Spin allows for sharp tilt while staying in the plane to tunnel off the FB. Effective as a late-breaking pitch to disrupt timing and attack edges of the strike zone. T2365, 2174 average rpm.
CH: 74-76 mph. Fading, sinking CH. Effective, inducing weak contact on the ground. Maintains arm speed. T1809, 1672 average rpm.

Cresap catches your eye quickly for his imposing frame standing at what appears to be 6’4 with a 215 lbs. frame which has a solid present build, but has plenty of room for projection to add strength. From there his INF/OF was solid at 1B with good hands and presenting a large target for INF throws with confidence in his footwork around the bag. What stood out the most for me in this first look at the Upland two-way product was his LH bat. It’s an uphill swing with a feel for lofting the baseball to the OF and shows solid present bat speed, but has room to improve as he understands his body better while adding strength. He has posted solid present numbers with a feel to hit, but as he taps into the power potential in his profile the upside of Cresap is highly interesting to me as a possible impact LH hitter in the future.
