Richardson put together an overall solid weekend from the workout as a position player with the athletic workout/defensive workout giving him an impact defensive profile in the OF. Flashed a solid offensive toolset which with improvements to his in game timing could give im an impact top of the order offensive ability. That position player profile performed at a solid level over the two games his team played at PK Park drawing a walk in one at bat and working several deep count plate appearances with solid bat to ball, but just a tick late with his timing during the game play portion. Richardson is an athletic mover who is very lean/wiry in build so added strength in the future can help tick up what is a strong present position player. Rounding out the profile for Richardson is the impressive present arm strength he has (88 MPH from the OF at the WCSSG and 89 MPH at the Central California Summer ID) which translates to the mound. Wyatt uses a clean, smooth low effort operation which he can repeat at a high level to attack the strike zone consistently. The delivery alone would catch eyes, but then when you add a FB living in the 84-86 MPH range that touches 87 at present with plenty of strikes from an offering which looks to have more in the tank one can't help but dream on the pitching upside. While the FB is impressive Richardson can polish his CB to help make his north/south attack profile play up even higher than its present ability (CB was at 66-69 MPH presently). The breaking ball was soft in shape and tended to land elevated in the zone allowing hitters to put it in play whether in cross-count or 2K counts higher than it should be. Overall, what Richardson showed off during the two games at PK Park evidenced why he is ranked inside our Top 50, but even more so showed off the potential for him to move in higher as he continues to get better.

Richardson stood out as one of the more athletic defenders in attendance, showing range, quickness, and body control that project well in the outfield. A wiry, 5-foot-9, 133-pound frame with room to grow, he turned in a standout 6.88 60-yard dash and fired an 89 mph throw from the outfield, pointing to natural arm strength. Defensively, Richardson shows versatility across the OF with confident glove actions, calculated footwork, and great trajectory on his throws. Offensively, while still developing strength, he stays short to the ball and showed the ability to work line drives through the middle and opposite field. While there is still lots to improve at the plate, Richardson still shows raw athleticism on the defensive side.
The Fr. earned his way to the varsity level after starting off the spring playing on JV as Matt Merricks the St. Bonaventure HC allowed him to get comfortable with high school baseball before exposing him to varsity level pitching. Wiry and athletically built presently there is solid athleticism with some twitch to the profile for Richardson with projection across a frame that looks to stay up the middle defensively (has experience on INF dirt in addition to CF). The operation in the box for the RH hitter is athletic with body control and shows a consistent load, feel for his rhythm/timing to land in the launch position on time while showing a quality lower ½ turn and fluid bat path with leverage through the zone. Being on the leaner side presently his bat speed is sound, but as he adds strength you can see it trending into strong to impact potential bat speed which could make him a dynamic offensive player in the future. His contact was predominantly on the ground with one line drive to the OF when he was able to get through the bottom half of a baseball for a solid L-8, but there is present bat to ball in the profile with some barrel awareness which will improve as he faces more varsity level pitching. Richardson flashed intriguing arm strength during INF/OF carrying his throws to 3B in the air from regular depth and the gaps while one hopping home plate from medium range distance with low carry, although his accuracy will need to improve as he matures. Add in quickness to his run tool and solid present instincts for the ball in the air, first step to go with solid angles he profiles to be a strong defender in CF who has impact potential in the future. With an intriguing present foundation of tools, athleticism and projection Richardson will be a no doubt follow for me in the 2028 class to see how high his future ceiling rises as he heads toward the recruiting process in the future.
