Positional Profile: LHP
Body: 5-7, 145-pounds. Athletic, wiry frame.
Delivery: High leg-kick into balance point, drop and drive motion, clean and easy.
Arm Action: LH. Clean, easy, short arm action from the 3/4 slot.
FB: T82, 79-81 mph. Late ride, with slight cut. T2067, 1698 average rpm.
CB: 68-68 mph. Flashed, 1/7 shape. T1579, 1579 average rpm.
SL: 67-69 mph. Gyro shape with sharp break. T2120, 1895 average rpm.
CH: 71-72 mph. Drops off from FB, with arm-side run. T1319, 1197 average rpm.
Athletic 5-foot-7, 145-pound frame. The left hander held a quality lineup to only one earned while tossing a complete game. He works with a true three-pitch mix. His fastball sat 81-83 mph locating it on both sides of the plate. The breaking ball sat 68-71 mph with depth. Put hitters away with it and landed it for strikes. Added a changeup at 73-75 mph with fade. Altered his leg lift to mess with hitter’s timings. Competitor on the mound who knows how to pitch.
Uncommitted. Athletic 5-foot-7, 145-pound frame with room to add strength. Farina struck out nine batters through four and ⅔ strong innings. The left-hander operates from a simple delivery that he changes pace with, while having a drop/drive approach. Compact, short, quick arm action from an over-the-top arm slot. His fastball sat 79-81 mph, which he was able to locate to all parts of the zone. Mixed in a curveball that sat 68-69 mph with sharp actions that played at the bottom of the zone.
Uncommitted, Farina got the win over a strong No. 11 Lincoln-Way West lineup, tossing 5.2 innings allowing one run, four hits, and striking out six.
Uncommitted, Farina continues to throw the ball well on the mound for Lockport. The southpaw made two appearances last week, first going 5.2 IP against Bradley, earning the win. He also held the game in check against Barrington on Saturday. Across both appearances, he collected a line of 6.2 innings pitched, no earned runs, five strikeouts, and three hits.
Uncommitted, the southpaw had a quality outing against Sandburg, nearly going the distance going six innings allowing only one earned run on three hits one walk, and striking out five.
+ Anthony Farina, LHP (Lockport, 2027): Uncommitted, the southpaw started in the loss against No. 8 Minnoka but gave an impressive showing, going 5.1 innings allowing three runs on only three hits with no walks, and striking out six. A solid start against a potent Minnoka offense.
Uncommitted, Farina had two appearances last week giving up one hit, one run, striking out eight over 4.1 innings of work.
