Weddington Survives Cuthbertson Run

The Weddington Warrior jumped out to a big lead, only to need extra innings to survive and advance in the Southern Carolina 3A Conference Tournament.  An unearned run in the 8th gave Weddington the 7-6 win.

In the first, Sr 3B Ryan Healy doubled to right-center, scoring Dusty Mercer and Anthony Hennings.  Healy would later score on an error off the bat of Sam Kalinski (1B, 2020).

Staked to a 3-0 lead, Weddington would add a single run in the 3rd and 4th, keyed by a solo HR from Healy.  Starter Cooper McKeehan (LHP, 2019) worked in and out of a couple of jams to keep the Cavs scoreless. In the 2nd, McKeehan surrendered a leadoff double
