Prep Baseball announces Antonio Torres as Arizona's new scouting director

By Prep Baseball Staff

Prep Baseball is proud to welcome Antonio Torres as our new Arizona Scouting Director. A high-level talent evaluator with a tireless work ethic, Torres brings a wealth of knowledge and experiences to Prep Baseball.

As an athlete, Torres played professionally across three continents, and collegiately at two levels, finishing at Long Beach State. Off the field, Torres has a Masters in Sports Management, started his own bat grip company (Drip Grip), worked in IT for the Clippers and was an instructor for the MLB Youth Academy, to name a few.

“I couldn’t be more excited that Antonio Torres is on our team,” said Sean Duncan, Prep Baseball President. “He’s a winner, on and off the field, has a tireless work ethic, evidenced by all his accomplishments and, above all, has a passion for helping players in their baseball journey. Antonio’s knowledge and energy will resonate, which will ultimately benefit all the players, parents and coaches across Arizona.”

Prior to taking the helm as Prep Baseball Arizona Scouting Director, Torres had worked closely with Prep Baseball’s Northern California staff while managing his bat grip company and playing overseas. His professional career included one year in Australia, two years in Germany and one in Michigan, playing in the United Shores Professional Baseball League.

A left-handed hitting catcher, Torres began his baseball career at Sacramento City Junior College before finishing his collegiate career at Long Beach State (2018-2019).

“Prep Baseball's commitment to providing comprehensive, year-round coverage of high school baseball makes it the leading resource for developing and promoting young talent, and I am excited to contribute to this mission in Arizona,” Torres said.

Now Torres will bring his baseball experiences, connections and passions for scouting to Arizona’s prep baseball scene. Torres will work tirelessly to bring to you the most comprehensive high school baseball information Arizona has ever seen, and provide scouting coverage to all corners of the state. But he can’t do it alone. Please email him at [email protected] with college commitments, relevant news, and top players in your area.

“With Prep Baseball's trusted scouting network and local focus, I look forward to identifying and showcasing Arizona’s top baseball prospects,” Torres said. “I’m eager to get started and help elevate the state’s baseball community to new heights.
