The 2025 GHSA State Playoffs kicked off last week. Playoff baseball in Georgia is some of the best baseball in the entire country and we are lucky enough to get to cover it. We have covered the state of Georgia from as south as Lowndes to as north as Gordon Lee and everything in between. Our staff has watched over 200 baseball games this year and can’t wait to cover playoff baseball.

We are going to keep things going in sweet 16 with a 4A GHSA State Playoff Preview. Coverage for the 4A division sweet 16 begins on April 29th with double headers at the higher seeds field. All match ups in the 4A division can be found HERE

How they win the series:

The Falcons have an upperclass heavy roster with depth throughout the lineup and staff. Potent sticks in the order such as Ojeda and Freeman headline the lineup as they will look to pace the offense through a gauntlet of arms deployed by Wayne County. The Flowery Branch pitching staff will have to go toe to toe with one of the best staffs in 4A.

How they win the series:

The Yellow-Jackets are a well-rounded group and are coming off a massive sweep of Ware County to end the year as they carry momentum into RD. 2 of the playoffs. Headlined by a strong pitching staff with names like Eli Grantham, Logan Scarborough, and Tate Altman.

Northside, Columbus @ Blessed Trinity

How they win the series:

The Patriots from a battle tested 3-4A region with the likes of (Starrs Mill, Harris County, and Central) who all made the Sweet 16. They are a talented upperclass bunch and will need to scratch across runs any way possible against premium arm talents. As well as find ways to limit runs against a lineup that can hurt you 1-9.

Blessed Trinity Titans

How they win the series:

This is as deep of a roster you’ll find in the country with expectations of a State Title. The Titans roll out a big three on the mound with Contreras, Novak, and Pack. The lineup top to bottom could do damage at any given time. Headlined by premier upperclass and underclass talent. They find themselves in a matchup with a gritty Northside squad and will need to stay locked in.

Harris County @ Allatoona

How they win the series:

Coming off a sweep of Pace Academy in RD.1, the young squad of Harris County is chomping at the bit for a deep playoff run. They are a well-rounded group with a deep lineup and strong talent on both sides of the ball. Look for the freshman duo of Cayden Dimitri and JT Pirkle to supply a potent 1-2 punch as they hope to provide key innings on the bump and keep Allatoona off the board.

The Buccaneers are headlined by one of the hottest prospects in the country (Cooper Underwood) who has garnered a fair share of draft buzz this spring. The lineup holds consistency throughout with big names like Paul and Planeta as they will have to jump on the young arms of Harris County early.

The Canes are looking to bounce back from a loss in the title game last season. It is clear that this senior group is looking to finish the job. They have the depth in their starting rotation if the series goes 3 games. Coach Tucker and the Canes just need to keep doing what they are doing and they have a shot at getting to the elite 8.
