TX HS Uncommitted Scout Blog: Week 9

Texas Scout Blog: Standouts from Across the State
High school baseball in Texas is special. The combination of talent, competition, and passion for the game is unmatched anywhere else in the country. From the packed stands on Friday nights to the year-round grind that players put in to get better, baseball isn’t just a sport here—it’s part of the culture.
At Prep Baseball Texas, we’re out at the ballparks watching the best the state has to offer, and each week in the Texas Scout Blog, we’ll highlight the players who stood out. Whether it’s a top-ranked commit showing why he’s one of the best in the country, an uncommitted prospect making a name for himself, or an under-the-radar player who demands attention, we’ll shine a light on those making an impact.
This isn’t about box scores—it’s about recognizing the guys who are stepping up when the lights are on. Texas high school baseball is as good as it gets, and we’re here to make sure the players proving it get the attention they deserve.
Check back each week to see who caught our eye across the Lone Star State.
WEEK 9
Gannon Plummer
Position: OF
School: Buda Johnson (2026)
Commitment: Uncommitted
Gannon Plummer, an uncommitted junior outfielder for Buda Johnson, got the scoring started in the 2nd inning with a 2-RBI double to left-center field last week. A good athlete, Plummer hits out of the leadoff spot for the Jaguars and continues to be the table setter for their lineup. He plays a really good LF and could play CF on a lot of other teams. In my two looks at Johnson, he has caught everything out there.
