Today, we put the spotlight on the #241 ranked player in the 2026 class who is sure to rise after this spring season in SoCal '26 RHP Patrick Arranaga from Notre Dame High School in Sherman Oaks, Calif.. The RHP for the perenially strong pitching staff at Notre Dame has posted a stellar start to his JR. campaign having made nine appearances earning one win with three saves in 15.2 innings of work. Arranaga has struck out 12 while allowing only 13 baserunners all spring (seven hits / six walks) for a WHIP of .855 as one of the Knights top relief arms this spring and has not allowed a run (earned or unearned) all spring. As a Soph. he saw time on the varsity level in 2024 throwing five innings of relief with five strikeouts over six appearances with one save.
Arranaga has twice thrown at the Prep Baseball National Program Invite for his Legacy Travel Program (2023/2024) while also making a stellar apperance at the 2024 Future Games Tryout: Orange County. Arranaga stands 6'1 with a 180 lbs. frame which is starting to add strength as he continues to mature.
At the Future Games Tryout: Orange County event Arranaga lived at 86-87 MPH on his FB and touched 90 MPH (during a live look in the 2025 High School season) with quality spin on his FB (2047 RPMs average) while showing both riding life to the pitch with 14.5" of IVB on average and adding running life with 13.7" of avg. horizontal run playing to a pitch he ride up in the zone and run in on the hands of RH hitters or down and away to LH hitters. His primary secondary is a strong SLD which has a tight shape (averaged 2.3" of IVB while averaging -2.9" of horizontal break and solid spin traits (2468 RPMs max / 2397 RPMs avg) while living at 77-79 MPH. Arranaga compliments his two primary offerings with solid CHG which shows potential at 81-82 MPH with action to his arm side generating on average 14.7" of horizontal run with more of a two-seam FB style shape that he will need to kill more spin on to play better with his FB while killing lift on the pitch with an average of 5.3" of IVB. He throws all three offerings from a lower release height (4'7" on average for the FB / 4'4-5" on average for the SLD/CHG), but can continue to tighten those windows to not tip the offerings in the future.
With a solid three pitch arsenal, experience working out of a bullpen, but showing a solid starters potential the versatility and track record of quality performance while adding upside to his profile for future development Arranaga is a strong arm for college programs to keep eyes on for their 2026 recruiting classes.

Scouting Report
An athletically built righthander, Arranaga showed the depth of the Knights staff to be the third arm who threw on the day (with an extensive group behind him) that brings a high quality arsenal. He relieved Newhouse after he had to exit the game and posted a strong 2.2 innings of relief with three Ks of his own, all three looking on FB’s. With a clean operation and quickness in the arm stroke Arranaga threw his FB at 87-89 MPH while touching 90 MPH with some running life to the arm side. He tunnels it with a 77-79 MPH SLD which was inconsistent with its shape, but flashed potential when executed properly. Another rising talent for the Knights deep pitching staff.
