2025 OSSAA Power 25: Week Eight

Bret Schwartz
Oklahoma Scouting Director

As we approach the end of the regular season, we update our Power 25. This week saw competitive district matchups along with some big matchups on the backend of the week. This update features a few changes due to results on the field as well as still some projection with the talent on the field.   All scores and records are from the OSSAA Rankings page.

Owasso stays in our top spot as they now sit at 27-2 on the season. At 2, Edmond Memorial continues to stay hot as well moving to 23-3 on the season. Bixby remains at 3, improving to 23-6 on the year following another district sweep on Monday/Tuesday. Blanchard rises a spot to 4 as they are now 25-1 on the year after and undefeated 3-0 week. Finally, rounding out our Top 5 is Edmond Santa Fe after a 5-0 week and a big series upcoming against Moore.

Amongst our biggest risers, Choctaw, Dale, and Duncan all move up a handful of spots. Choctaw rises from 10 to 8 following a highly competitve Deer Creek series as well as a battle on Thursday night against Edmond Memorial. A relentless offensive attack, they have shown to be as gritty a lineup as anyone making opposing pitchers really work as they move through the order. Dale continues to stack wins as they added an impressive victory over Newcastle to close the week. Finally, we see Duncan put an exclamation mark on their impressive run. Improving to 26-5 overall, a 5-0 week, and ultimately winners of 11 in a row the Demons are our biggest risers as they move 6 spots from 23 to 17.

Making their entry into the Power 25 are the Moore Lions as they currently sit at 20-8 and have a massive District matchup against Edmond Santa Fe beginning this evening. A steady mix of experience and youth, Moore has shown to play with discipline as they rarely beat themselves.

The meat of the rankings generally stay the course with numerous teams continuing to stack wins. We have another great week of games on tap and look forward to some big matchups over the next couple weeks as we move down the home stretch.
